Extended campaing time
Changed this since I generally dislike games that have a time limit. So instead of racing against time you get 1000 "years" more of playing time. So if you're playing the Early period you start on Turn 87 instead of Year 1087 which it is originally.

Years changed to turns
Since the time was changed I had to do a text touchup aswell. Most of the text that included "years" have been changed to "turns". Only some few sentences are kept using years as it sounded better and didn't relate to gameplay.

Gunpowder period
The date for gunpowder to be invented has been deleted due to the whole "turnchange". You still have to build the right buildings though.

Compass removed
As with Gunpowder invention the Compass has been removed aswell. So you don't have to wait for the event in order to build better ships. Still need the builidings though.

Dead units are more bloody
Medieval - Total War is by my standards one of the best strategygames Iv'e ever played. However, the "gore" in the game isn't actually adequate. Sure you see some blood but it's just a small pit under the models. In a time of close combat one would expect some more bloodstains! Anyways, this is fixed aswell.

Minor changes
There are also some minor updates in the game that don't effect the actual gameplay. All the minor changes were made just for fun and you should notice as you play along.

Future updates:
Real time blood splatter
More playable factions
New units for these new factions

Note:
If anyone of you would like to contribute I'll be more gladly add it to the installer so that we get all the mods in a "controlled" enviroment.
That way we don't have to worry about mods conflicting eachother.
Note though that I will NOT take credit for mods I have not made. Contributors will get their name up on the installer naturally!

Hi there my lord Earl of Norway,

Is there any way you could supply the files in a zip file format? I don't have my own internet and any transfer of files is thru 1.44 floppies. Would like to try your mod out though.

Thanks,

Full version(Install and backup) http://paulogfabian.com/MTWModpack.exe

Zip installer http://paulogfabian.com/MTWModpackinstall.exe

Zip uninstallerbackup http://paulogfabian.com/MTWModpackbackup.exe

Both zips can fit on a floppy. Made a fancy installer you see... That's what caused the space. I do recommend that you download the full version as there will be updates later and the installer will take care of the old files automatically.

Future updates:
Real time blood:
First off all... This will take time.
Frame by frame editing all the way.
Though I am working on some Photoshop brushes that will make the job a bit easier.

New factions and units:
I'm from Norway and therefore the first new factions will be the Norwegians and the Sweeds.
Some of you might think it's stupid to make another "Denmark" faction but... I just have to!
The first new units are only for Sweden and Norway.
Berskers: Kinda like fanatics with some adjustments.
Vikingships!!!: Gotta make that!
All new units will have new textures. Not just copy and paste. The real deal.

Again... If any of you want to contribute to this modpack pleeeeaaaae mail me at post@paulogfabian.com
Your name will be included with any other information you want.
I'm not here to steal your mods, just making a contribution as all you other modders are.
For the love of the game...

Do you understand that you can make
templates with this meathod.
This can be used to compile
a variety of weapons and shields and armour
that people could use to learn how to
do it without having your god given
gift to draw free hand pixel by pixel
smartarse.Btw how many units have you
made.I have made 10 with different
meathods and I'm not knocking any.
They might be crap but at least I try.
To see you make such a comment is not
nice.

If I sent u a unit that I drew pixel
by pixel and one I made from a template
u would not know the difference,so what's
your problem are you a glutten for punishment. The idea of animation software
is to speed up the process not to slow it
down.I still look forword to seeing your units ,it's going to take a very long
time unless u don't have a life.

C ya woulden't want to be ya

Lord Krazy:
I think you missunderstood me here....
I meant that I will not use the same units for the new units.
Example:
Making the berserkers.
I took the viking textures and just modified some weapons and looks.
I don't start from scratch. And I'm not trying to show off here.
Just saying that I won't use units allready used. But they will be modified.

We cool on this now?

this.Have you changed the names on map
by any chance. We are doing this at the
moment and seen as I'm planing a mod
with ireland,denmark,sweden,scotland,norway,
wales, brittany and few others with some
new map names, I tought you might be able
to help with scandinavian names.

meant what I tought u said.

Thorbeck,
please explain how you "bypassed" compass nd gunpowder events.
save me a few hours looking through your work,

or did you just remove the tech requirement in the build prod file?

thanks
B.

The Sweeds and the Nords are fine but if you can add the swiss and the Scots..and maybe even the Irish....that would be the ultimite mod and every1 is trying to do it...so if you accomplish this you will become the god of mod....also add some goverment ajusting too..look under general aging post

when you write replace you mean with
a blank space, yes?
just want to make this clear in case ppl
are thinking what do I replace it with
he he .I presume if game has nothing
associated with the defined date
it's considered to be there already.

This is very cool he he
well done
--------------------------------------------- Danial you can add anybody you like
you just got to dump somebody to
get them to work as a major faction
and rename the strings for the coded lables.

Btw would you like to contibute to
my mod well actualy it's the communities
mod because I want them and that includes
you to suggest and if the want supply
a unit or units for my +90 unit prod
If it had your units and alot of others
I think it would be good and you could put
it in your installer and we could all smoke it. sorry bit of irish humour there.
"request to community" is the thread
if your interested.

How do you get rid of them (bypass the compass and gunpowder)? Please advise!

Thanks,

Open "crusader_build_prod13.txt" in gameroot.

Search for "Compass" and "Gunpowder" in a separate process.

Delete it.

You will find stuff like:
"Gunpowder, Gunpowder, Gunpowder, Gunpowder"

Simply delete the whole thing.

Voila!
You're done.

Sorry for lack of updates on the mod.
My computer keeps crashing (Dell LapTop) so I'm waiting for a new one.
When that arrives I will continue with the mod. Nice to see some people mailing me with requests.
Everything is appreciated!

Hi Thorbeck

Nice to see some Scandinavian people around here.
If there is anything I can do to help you I'm up to it. I'm actually learning skeleton-animation in 3d studio, the best way to make new units I thought.

Mitt första projekt är svenska karoliner med musköter och allt, men berätta inte för någon. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Then, when I'm finished I can make some models for you, depending on how well this project turns out.

Excellent, though I would like to see the Swiss playable. Also, what do you mean by "real-time blood"? Is the blood going to assume a 3-D polygon form as part of the terrain as it did in the Myth series or are you just editing the sprites of dead soldiers so that more blood is visible?

The dead units are allready edited.
However, I am working on more blood during a fight. So I have to edit the files that holds the frames for fighting for ALL units.
As I mentioned earlier, my computer is down. But I just saw today that my cabinet has been sent and the remaining parts will be here this week. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

So when I set my new comp up I'll finish the next version of MTW Modpack. Lot's of work has allready been donebut can't continue until my new comp arrives.
