Berbers suck

Like seriously. What's a good strategy for them? They don't have any unit that can match up against other people's unit.

Early game rush with moorish raiders is very effective. Low tech, fastest cav in the game, decent stats, and reasonable upkeep. You can churn them out all day.

Well, that why they are supposed to be an unplayable faction.

Well they're probably the hardest faction out there, like Numidia was in RTW.

So I'm definatly going to try this faction.~:)

Actually, I found them easier then Numidians. Yes, they don't have any outstanding units. Thing to remember though is that almost all their units get bonuses fighting in desert conditions. This means they're actually pretty decent if you're fighting in North Africa, but if you decide to pop up to Spain or Italy to fight you've lost you're one advantage.

Actually the Numidians at least had their Immitation Legionaries. They were the equals of Principes, a good unit by any acount. The Berbers have nothing.

The Mountainmen are their best, but they are absolutely crap compared to everything else. Personally I think they should pose a good challenge to anyone who would do an Ironman that included no cavalryrush.

My first BI campaign was with the Berbers and i found them great fun. The weakness of the troops make it even more challenging. You need to use your cavalry A LOT to outflank, otherwise you have no chance of breaking the roman armys. I still won some battles 1000+ to 100+
