Everyone starts an early expert grand achievement campaign as the Aragonese and post a screeny every 10 turns and compete with each other for glory.

I chose the Aragonese as they have access to europe, africa and the mediteranean, spanish steel and javelin cavalry and infantry, crusades to the holy land get grand achievement points and it seems the Aragonese are in the worst possible position in the game. It should prove to be an interesting game.

I've already played this campaign though, but I took my time and role (nerd) played to make the battles more interesting. When I play this game it will be like some megalomaniac completely consumed with an insatiable lust for power as I assume you will.

Rules

1: There's nothing to stop you from cheating and being all OMG LOL I PWN MTW, but there's no point in cheating either.
2: No reloading, to make the game a little more immersive and realistic.
2a: Go right ahead and save the game when you're finnished.
2b: Quick save every battle, but don't reload unless there is a power cut or something which prevents you from finnishing the battle.

Commence.

Something like that. You don't have to play the entire campaign through or at the same time as everyone else, just do a few turns, post your progress and compare it with everyone doing the same campaign.

Early era, Aragon, expert difficulty, grand achievements.

I started off the first turn by taking my entire army to aquitaine. I didn't like the look of the fort there and it was weakly defended. The next turn i assaulted, then in 1090 I invaded Toulouse. I had trained 120 archers by then. A prince was born and he attacked anjou with some archers, there was an inn in anjou where I purchased the services of 120 militia seargants and 200 round shielded spearmen. The king met up with these mercenaries and invaded brittany and in the same year my prince got pushed the english off the continent in normandy. The pope told me to stop invading the english or face excommunication, fine with me. At the moment the picture was taken I was sending some forces south, training my first few spanish jinettes and reinforcing normandy, anjou and toulouse to deter invasion by the germans. My emissary gained his first star getting the french to agree to a peace treaty.

I conquerred nothing next turn so this is also the map for 1097.

The invasion of Castille was the largest battle to date, but the easiest in the invasion of Spain. The pope was still maintaining his threat against invading the English at this time and so couldn't bother me when I maliciously attacked the Spanish. The battle of castille started off with skirmishing and ended with a fierce melee whilst my jinettes attempted to take the flanks with the help of a few spare units of spearmen. The Spanish king died and I besieged the castle and brought in more troops. The Spanish heir took the throne and a formidable army of 320 jinettes in leon, so it was a while before i had the strength to take Leon and kill off the spanish. The battle in leon consisted of a line of spearmen slowly marching towards the enemy infantry, supported by jinettes. Once the enemy infantry and spanish king was destroyed the spearmen split up and helped hunt down the skirmishing enemy jinettes. So I conquerred Spain and gained much land in France.

Hmm.. well.. I'm not too impressed with my progress. It's been 20 years and I'm struggling with my conquest of North Africa. I stupidly sent my king to lead the attack when there was a perfectly good ancestor to el cid that I bribed to do the job for him. I could have begun trashing the holy roman empire by now. So I will start as quickly as possible and send my king back to Iberia so I can raise tax and produce more troops. My navy now covers much of western europe's coast and I am ready to begin cashing in on trade. So it is time for my king to return to civil duties.
