I started to use the Minimal UI in 1.3 RTW and I like it a lot as I can see easily. Everything is far less cluttered. I'm probably missing something obvious but I can't find out how to increase / decrease battle speed / time for those occassions when not much is going on.
How is it done with Minimal UI?

hmm press Ctrl T , that should do it.
:balloon2:
Ctrl+T to toggle it on and off.
There are only standard and fast speed when using minimal UI.

Actually, you can assign diffarent speed if you set a key in the control option.
Ah nice. Never bothered to check that out.

I just tried Minimal UI. It feels weird at first, but definitely makes everything look bigger.

I suppose it means Unit Interface (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
On the battlemap, its the interface you use for controlling your units. Minimal UI can be modded on the preferences.txt file (change FALSE to TRUE) to make the Interface less cluttered i.e. removing the skin at the bottom, thereby increasing the visual aspect of the battlemap.
I hope that helps.
It´s User interface.~:)
Minimal UI let´s the big Interface on the bottom of the screen disappear so that almost all of your screen shows the action in battles. It doesn´t touch the campaign game though.
And before someone asks, you can activate it in prferences.txt somewhere in your BI/RTW folder by overwriting FALSE with TRUE in the correct line.

Why the speed control options are removed from the minimal UI, who knows. CTRL T works for triple speed, but I've set up the three keys to the left of the L key for Normal, Double and Triple speed respectively. All those keys were free so it makes sense to have them all together.
An example of how it looks:

I have removed the annoying green arrows for selected units and the unit banners too.

You don't do infantry much, do you CBR?
Husar... of course, what was I thinking?
Heh. That was my anti horde army and I wanted to see if I could do the same as I had done in my old 1.1 Seleucid campaign and just bowl over enemy armies with an all heavy cav army. And it appears it still works fine ~
