Will Ea Ever Reopen Their Servers For Shogun

I Would Like To Know If they Are Opening Shogun Servers And When So If anyone KNows this Or Has An Idea Share It Im Listening

Hi HoH Leader, and since I haven't met you before: welcome to the Org.

The official Shogun: Total War - Mongol Invasions (STW-MI) server was shut down over a year ago. EA has nothing more to do with Shogun, so unfortunately, no, they will not be reopening the official server.

You can still play STW-MI online, by accessing a STW-MI fakeserver. To do so, you must first download and install the 1.02 beta patch from Totalwar.com (it's also available from other sites, including this one, I think). Then you must manually change the information in the internet.cfg file in your STW-MI game folder. It's a simple edit, and the parameters are listed in a thread somewhere here in the Sword Dojo, Shogun MP subforum.

Do the legwork and read up. The information you need is all here. It may take some digging. The fakeserver is run by a guy called ShambleS here, so look for threads by him regarding his website and the fakeserver. If you run into snags, feel free to send me a Private Message with your questions. You can post them here in the Entrance Hall, but I don't always check this part of the forum.

I know of at least one person who would LOVE to have new Shogun players come along (Drisos, a.k.a. 47RoninDrisos). But be advised: there are very few active online Shogun players these days. You can find them, but you often have to communicate here in the MP subforum and arrange times to meet. If you just log in to the fakeserver, the foyer is usually deserted. Drisos is friendly, talented and loves to help new online players improve, so he's your best bet. I can't play at the moment as I've just moved and my disks aren't here, but hopefully I'll be able to get reinstalled and configured and be back for some games sometime in the future.

Buy MTW VI and install the STW Mod, there's still folks online who have it installed. Very close to STW 1.12 but with MTW engine.

I see you met Toga, in my opinion the nicest, coolest, and one of the most skilled stw mp players still around. (ok he can't play atm but if you stick around for a while you'll meet him in the server foyer ~:) ) And Toga, thanks for your kind words:bow: Your presence here at the .org makes me miss you even more at msn and in the foyer.~:mecry:

Indeed shogun is great but lacks people.... but I have been doing my very best to keep the community alive, and I will continue doing that.~:)

yep Thats what im doing Now im recruiting around places i use to hang out i use to go to a chatsite that had tons of shogun players but when ea closed server the site died and now nobody goes around there :( *kicks Ea* :D

Alotta Shogun/Roleplay players use to go there but its since died out every once in a while you find someone around their but most nowadays dont go their :( thats where i use to play before i started aoe2 though its only a chat site everyone used it as a meeting place before anyone knew places like this
