In the descr_sm_factions, some factions after their name have events. Simply erasing these will result in a CTD when the said faction dies out. Now I have troublshooted this by noticing a few hidden triggers that me and some other modders have found by reading various forums.

In the EDB file, there are hidden resources:

rome britain bosphoran berber slav sughdian.

I deleted all entries of those in the said files as well as the descr_regions file. With that, all factions will display the proper movie for the following factions:

Playtested:

empire_west
sassanids
alemanni
saxons
franks
vandals
sarmatians
huns
goths
romano_british
empire_east
celts
burgundii
lombardi
roxolani
ostrogoths
slavs
berbers
empire_east_rebels

Not Playtested:
empire_west_rebels
slave

I need to play test the others, but empire west was giving me a CTD regardless, yet in 1.4 vanilla, the movie would display. So I changed the Roman capital in my map mod to Northern_Italy with the city of Rome in all proper files, and poof, the movie plays. My suspicions about the east will be that their captial has to be Thracia and after my testing with Thracia, it did work. Although I did not try the eastern empire without Thracia.

For the Romans West, the winning conditions were to hold Northern_Italy and this worked, so I am unsure about how this works completely as I just found this out.

I will test later and post again.
