Changing Colors

I'm incredibly inexperienced when it comes to modding anything in the game files, (the most I have managed to do is unlock extra factions ~:confused: ) and I was wondering if it is possible to change unit/banner colors.
I thought that this would be possible because don't mercenary units use the same skin but with the color just changed to green? I really like the Sassanids in BI but I hate their colors, if there is anyway to change them please respond.

If you want to change the colours of a faction's units then you have to produce a new skin for every one of the different units that it uses and use those to replace the vanilla ones. That's what CA did for the mercenaries. There's no simple text file that you can edit.
