Hiyas, well after lurking around and not finding a topic to answer this i decided to ask. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
So it all begun with me wanting to make the Russians a playable faction on the early period, i thought it would be an easy task, looked at some online help and started editing the txt, so i finally finished and went to start the campaign, and to my surprise i could get HIGH units on the early campaign, i tested some other factions to see if it happened to them but they were fine. Then i thought that russians only work on high and late periods because they dont actually come up on the early period. That would be ok if i didnt need another orthodox faction at the exact same place with the exact same unit list http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Any help with this?

PS: I previously edited a lot of the unit stats which included russia as a normal faction in the early/high/late periods.

Why don't you "recycle" Nogogorod to Russia in early and take them away in other Champains? Through editing you can make them absolutely identic to Russians (names.txt, bifshields, changes.txt, Flags) and it is not appicable to see that they are Novogorod and not Russia. This simple way you get early troops...

Yea thats what i decided to do eventually but still three orthodox factions would be better, and making a new faction while changing all the data from russian to "new faction" would be a hassle, man why couldnt they just make the russians early compatible. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Why not take out Swiss and make instead Romania with their House? Through taking them out the damage to realism is not that big, realism even goes higher... Only prob is that they will have German Names... Oops!

But recyceling a minor to be another country is not that problematic. Maybe the Major Danes, because you can then also edit the Names without changing another fraction... But will danes allow that? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hmmm, strange thing, i tested the almos and now they have hitek stuff from early too, it was on easy tho, ill check it on hard and expert, maybe i just screwed the early.txt file but i cant see how...hmmmm...
