View Full Version : 1.3 patch
just wondering if the open beta will be on 1.2 or 1.3 because I heard 1.3 broke a lot of stuff ~ thanks~:)
I dont know for certain, but I believe it will be on v1.2. Correct me if I'm wrong.
We currently have no plans to move to 1.3. Once we have determined that nothing is broken and implementation issues have been solved (such as the new rwm generation) we will consider it.

I think you mean HGT, not RWM, and that's already been solved. alpaca has deciphered the map_heights.hgt file and made a TGA-HGT converter. Regardless, the 1.3 patch made major changes to file parsing, and it will take a long time for us to convert, so I'd bet the OB will be released in 1.2.
I really do hope EB to move onto 1.3 or 1.4.
Having to play EB with load-siege bug doesn't sound to good.

Depends if he's talking about how the game is playable or how it is moddable.
By what Ive seen the game is better playwise, but not moddable.
rwm generation is new (although as Simetrical said a solution is found), but there is also the file parser stuff. Modding isn't extremely difficult, but neither is it easy. We can't just take a magic wand and instantly fix it.
khelvan has said it before in other threads, and that is that OB WILL be released in v1.2.
If moving to v.1.3 proves easy and doable, then the chances for EB doing so will be high.
