This will be a first time wanting to mod something in a game. Having finished Barbarian Invasion with several factions now I am wanting to change a few things but lack the know how.

If someone can point me to where and how to change the following, I would be thankful. - I did search but couldn't find the answers I needed.

Spies, Assassins and Diplomats: I am wanting to make these trainable with a 0 build time so that they are similar to using a repair or retrain. I find it odd that training 1 single person (though a specialized focus) takes as long as training 100 troops. I also want to decrease the cost of upkeep on these units but increase the initial cost.

Ports: I was bugged by the fact the Goths didn't have the knowledge to build ports. Granted it's good for the game and probably correct, but I want all factions to have access to at least three levels of ports. I do not think they should all have access to all boats though, just the lowest level ones.

I would love to have squalor effect happiness less but effect population growth more. Is there a way to alter this. My way of thinking is to a point, people that are unhappy with living somewhere do tend to up and leave rather than just throw the government out. Having said this, I just finished ERE without a single rebelion pop-up... WRE is another story.

Also, how do I make the walls shoot faster or shoot different types of shots (fire arrows for example). Trying to make sieges more interesting.

Thanks for any help in this.

PS. I did look around a bit on the boards and in the files but can't find anything to help. So if these have been answered before a point to would be helpful as well.

Hey dawjr. Welcome to the forums!!! ~

So, you can make them by editing some txt files. Not sure if they work in BI. export_descr_units.txt(sorry if I mistake) is the file. Use Caligula for this.

As for the ports, you can do that by editing the export_descr_building.txt
As for now, looks like buildings can't be added in BI.
Hadrian is the tool for this.

The 3rd and 4th have the same answer: hardcoded.

Hope this helps. ~:)
