Is the cost spread out amongst the towns based on population or is the cost assessed against the town in which the troops were raised?

Thanks

Hi Akmatov ~

Your troop costs are spread out amongst the towns based on population of the towns. Some towns may look like they are not earning money but it is because they may have a high population and be bearing the brunt of the troop cost. Vacating these towns would mean that the troop cost would need to be spread amongst the remaining towns. In order to accurately assess the value of a town check the income screen rather than what you see on the strategic map.

Thanks YAKOBU!

I'm delighted I don't have to worry about running around raising troops in different towns just to spread out troops cost. This makes life a bit easier.

No, it does not matter where they are recruited, nor where they are stationed (as is the case in MTW), costs are allocated according to population size, the larger the town, the more it has to pay. The campaign map income statements are confusing at best, ignore them.
