Do you celebrate Halloween? Do you give kids candy and dress up in a costume and watch horror flicks?

Post good photos of you in your costume

I use to. I might have done something this year if I had not bought my grandad the 50$ book about firefighting. So Me my friends will probably pitch in for a half-gallon of whiskey terroize the nieghboored all the while making complete asses of ourselves trying to get laid. YAY~

I went to state street last night for the Halloween party. It is quite an experience if you go before 1:00 A.M. Because that's usually when all of the out-of-state arses go all violent and trash our city and the police tear gas portions of it.~ It is something to see 100,000 dressed up people in a half-mile. Always fun until idiots ruin it.

Old clothes, scissors and red paint
great for making a corpse or zombie costume, if your willing toput in the effort, get some fake blood instead of the paint

A white headband (paint your fave Japanese Kanji on it) a fundoshi (essentially a cloth, diaper-like thingie), some flip-flops, a couple of wooden dowels, and a drum, and you could be a Taiko drummer. Assuming you have the bod and the attitude for such a costume ... .

Religeous holiday so I get paid for not working woohoo ~
In the evening I will wander round the bonfires (3 huge ones built within 5 minute walk of the house so far , there may be more by tomorrow) with the family and neighbours , have a few beers and watch the fireworks (which are illegal in the Republic) .

Even if I wanted to give out candy, well check my location and you'll see why I don't.

I probably wouldn't anyway, unless my parents bought some and told me to give it out because I was downstairs and they were upstairs.

I'm currently taking a break from decorating the yard for tonight. I used to hang things from a big tree in our yard. We had that tree cut down this summer, so I'm really challenged to find new ways to display stuff. I made a floating ghost last night that turned out pretty good. I'd like for it to have some motion, but seeing the hours are flying by, I'll have to wait until next year to get fancy with it. This year I'll just have to rely on the soft breeze that is blowing.

Well, back to the yard. The mailman has come, so I can now make my mailbox from hell again.

It's been difficult finding willing virgins for the sacrificial rites this Halloween. I might have to call the seance off. ~:mecry:

Zombie movies and beer. A friend of mine is supposed to dress up as Johnny Cage, so if we decide we want chocolate, he's going door to door while we keep drinking.

:ahh: Yeah, I saw that story Tribesman. Pretty gruesome.

Fortunately my artistic skill aren't up to snuff on anything that looks real. I'm more into glow-in-the-dark and blacklight stuff - floating knives, hockey masks, skulls, spiders, etc. My ghost might have been a little too good as there were about 3 little kids who wouldn't come to my table for candy. I never had that happen before. The thing is, they didn't have to go through the yard as I was out by the curb on the street. Anyway, a disappointingly dull night. In the 13 years we have lived in our house, this was by far the worst Halloween as far as numbers of Trick-or-Treaters.

Easiest costume ever is a white sheet, cut holes for eyes etc and then you are a ghost.

Okay here is a picture of the ghost - complete with blacklight for full effect - I had hanging in my yard yesterday:

That's a very cool ghost Gregoshi.

Twas a ho-hum Halloween for me here. Handed out candy, no stunning costumes ... blah. I fell asleep in the afternoon and the family went to the Maplewood Halloween parade without me ~:mecry:.

I usually go all out for Halloween, but this year I was too busy. Usually some friends and I build all kinds of decorations. We have a complete graveyard, hanging bodies, and an air-powered coffin jumper. Here's a gibbet I made for last year's Halloween.

This year was pretty tame, must be because it fell on a Monday.

I too recieved far too few vict...visitors. The seance was a complete and utter flop, not to mention a disappointment for all the guests. I even had punch!

Well, all you need is a compressor tank, regulators, bleed valves, a PVC body frame, a coffin, screen door air cyclinder, pressure mat.... ok, I guess it is pretty complicated. We had the pressure mat rigged to raise the body, and also trigger a strobe light and recorded scream. Fortunately I only had to build the coffin and body frame, the electrical work was the responsibililty of my friends.

If you want some really over the top projects, go to http://deathlord.net/. They have designs for all sorts of neat stuff. And Bucky's Boneyard has all the bones and skeletons you need (they sell the medical skeleton casts that don't pass inspection). http://anatomical.com/bcategory.asp?c=7

Yes, my wife and I are big fans of doing pumpkin horror scenes. We find that using simple faces with varied expressions and multiple pumpkins achieves a nice effect.

A couple ideas that I'm toying with for next year:
1) Using some white pumpkins for 'drained' victims of a pumpkin vampire.
2) Sawmill/Magic Act horror scene with a pumpkin sawed in half on a split table with its innards spilling out. Dunno what else around it.
3) Multiple pumpkins consuming each other like Russian nesting dolls. Massive pumpkin with a huge mouth, inside which can be seen another pumpkin with a large open mouth, inside which... etc.
