since we at the monestary always nitpick our way through every simple mainstream movie (gladiator, kingdom o heaven, alexander, troy...) to make it look as if it was made by someone who haqd no idea about history i propose we come up with an idea for a good, violent, historical, violent, and accurate, and just for the record it must be violent, movie.
any ideas.
i propose three part movie (trilogy?) going threw war threw the ages, start with a early war (hittites vs egypians, kadesh?) and move on to a later time mabey persians vs spartans then a defining battle for rome, then the crusades then on and on spending about 45 minutes on each battle. very little probing of personal lives, lots of killing time.

but those atre just my ideas, if the mods don't close this or move it how might you make a great movie?

I'd always thought it would be cool going thru the diferent Anglo-French conflicts. The first one would cover the story of two different families (each one in an opposing camp) and their treck through the variuos stages of that war.
The next one would be based through the Anglo-French entanglements of the 18th century, again it would tell the story of the families seen in the previous installement.
Finally it would end witha completely glorified and immortalised showing of the Napoleonic war. The Finale of Anglo-French conflict.

It would be so coool to show that.
Imagine the awsome amount of battles you could craftily edit into it.
It would be like War and Peace, except ona grander scale and without all the BS.

A movie about some of the great warrior-kings of Assyria should give you all the battle you should ever need. Perhaps Asarhaddon?

In the beginning hos rise to gain his rightful throne against his brothers seeking to prevent him from becoming king. Battling against the rebells, whos army deserted to Asarhaddon as well due to a prophecy and other sucsessful campaigns against neighbours, finally invading Egypt to fullfill the prophecy that lead him to become king.

Could get a rather nice movie of oriental ancient history and the Assyrian Empire, as well as if you want to tell the story about a sick and physically weak ruler who lead his people to great military victories.

Just an idea...
