Is there a second source for this? WND is not always accurate.

I havent checked this out, specifically, but it wouldn't even slightly suprise me. The man has already been shown to be a dishonest hypocrite of the worst sort.

"I had been a heavy drinker for many years and on that day, I discovered what appeared to be the image of Jesus Christ on my grilled ham and cheese. After that day, I quit drinking and began to make much needed changes in my life."

No surprise there. I hope this ruins him. I really, really do, but ultimately he will produce some stupiud excuse ala Delay and his hardcore supporters will either believe him or blow it off because he "doing a greater public service with his work."

I hate Mike Moore to an incredible degree. He has besmurched the good name of leftism more than all of Rupert Murdoch's octopine news networks combined. This is a delicious irony.

And yet the liberals embrace him. Maybe he's been exposed as a fraud enough now that he won't be given the seat of honor at the next Democratic convention... Let's hope not.~D

Personally I dislike lies. And I dislike lies that are made on purpose to make a point.

If the point is valid it should stand for itself.

That applies to all sides of politics and the media.

The left and the right can have different perspectives, what they shouldn't have a difference of opinion on is basic honesty and truth. The idea of an opposition government should be to keep the government in power honest.

I don't know many lefties who have actually spent more than 10 seconds looking into this guy who still like him, and I live in lefty-ville, USA.Read the reviews (http://imdb.com/title/tt0361596/usercomments) for his piece of offal movie. It was alot longer than 10 seconds. ~;p

The critical reviews (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/fahrenheit_911/) are even more entertaining.~D

I do wish I could drag out all the Moore threads we had here and see all the comments defending him.

I didnt think you would've been defending him- but I know many here did so religiously. ~;)

What a kerfuffle about nothingness.

I love these dives into the deep desperation end of the pool where people seek oh-so-hard to disqualify the serious charges with the most inane facts.

Find me one politician or hollywood bonehead who isn't a hypocrite and I'll mail you a hot cup of coffee. Obviously Moore is just as bad as the rest, but to think that his owning some Halliburton stock excuses all the president's and vice-president's (wrong) actions is blisteringly ridiculous.

It's like saying the CEO of Enron should go free because one of the financial investigators lost a thousand bucks on the stock market.

"Mr. President, all charges of corruption, collusion, wasting of life and limb, invading other countries, bombing civilians, allowing massive corporate kickbacks and cronyism, all that is automatically forgiven...

Because one of your accusers owns some stocks.

(Not that I dislike Bush, I dislike al politicians. But if only pure virgins of faith and virtue can make accusations, then every devil amongst us will walk free.)

If he's dishonest about his own actions, what makes you think he'll be honest against his enemies?

If he's dishonest about his own actions, what makes you think he'll be honest against his enemies?

Find me one person who is completely honest and without past error in judgement. Where is the moral virgin people seek who has the sole right to accuse?

A sin does not disqualify one from citing sin in another. Who amongst us is without sin, without excuse, without error, without double standard?

Just because Micheal Moore is a hypocrite, that doesn't mean his accusations against Bush are without merit.

I think some people, when one on their side is being singled out, defend their cause by attacking the morality of the accuser thinking that that washes the sin from the accused. Not bloody likely. The perfect moral standards people are insisting on are not available nor are they realistic.

Or is someone, anyone, anywhere, saying that GWB is without sin himself, without error, without double standard, without excuses? And if he is guilty of any of these things, does that disqualify GWB from accusing anyone himself?

Two entirely seperate issues. Pretty much all of Moore's major accusations are total distortions with little or no truth to them. Bush has done plenty wrong, but not like Moore's kook conspiracy theories suggest.

I htink one reason this charge is so great against MM is not just because he said 'he doesn't own stock' but because for his entire career he's represented himself as 'the little guy' fighting the big corporation/gov't/etc.

This exposes him not just as a hypocrite, but his whole life as a sham.

Crazed Rabbit

That's pretty severe.

GWB did drugs and got drunk. Is his "whole life a sham"? Because he sure as shoot passes moral judgement on others.

Even if Moore's "whole life is a sham", which honestly is an extremist statement and has no bearing in reality, does this mean everything he says is without merit? Moore is an actor - not an apostle. Nobody should take his word as gospel, but if he puts forth that 1+1=2, and that the equation pertains to someone in power, than the statement itself has importance beyond who said it. it cannot be disregarded simply because you don't like who's saying it.

The idea of accusing the accuser to save one's own skin is hollow. It deflects but does little else. It's the cheap way out.

I hate Mike Moore to an incredible degree.Yeah, he must be doing something right...

But this is not an open and shut case, is it? How can anyone access Moore's income tax papers? He is a private citizen after all. And American patrons please tell me what it means that he filed Schedule-D forms for his stock. Does that not mean he sold them? And if so, when did he sell them -- before or after he said he didn't own any stock?

EDIT
I forgot to mention: on the site (http://www.wndbookservice.com/products/BookPage.asp?prod_cd=c6832) where they promote the book, WND write: "I don't own a single share of stock," Michael Moore declares. No, his tax returns show he has owned hundreds of thousands -- profiting from some of the very companies (like Halliburton and Boeing) he viciously denounces.'

Taking on his ideas has more class than taking on his tax returns, his dog or his bed clothes. Although class really seems to be an alien concept to both Moore and his Republican detractors.
