While the Apothecary may be useful for asking what might be wrong with out computers, i was wondering if it would be possible for computer freaks like me to have a forum where we could just generally discuss computers? And this is just a suggestion from Martinus, but maybe there could be a place where the .Orgahs could help each other with homework?

Until there is a dedicated forum, you are certainly welcome to start a discussion in the Frontroom.

Also, the Arena might be open to your thread ideas as well. Ask.

It might be nice to have a hardware geek forum, where the latest stuff can be discussed. Not sure where it would go, maybe a sub-forum of the Apothecary or the Misc forum.

Possible topics could be video cards, new mobos, processors, drivers, system tweaking/overclocking, cooling solutions, hard drives, etc.

I'll probably be putting together a new computer soon, a forum with links to reviews and discussion on performance benefits would be helpful. As long as the Intel/AMD flame wars are kept under control, it could be a pretty useful place.~;)

Edit-> You could even have console discussions....<shudder>

I would stay away from discussing consoles in the hardware forum, consoles aren't nearly techy enough to sit beside overclocking and cooling solutions. I think it's a great idea for a forum as well, I'd love to see if there's anyone else here who overclocks and discuss it with them. I need to re-overclock my PC now that the cold weather has returned, yes I'm too stingy to buy a new heatsink/fan combo.

actually, when you start modding consoles, it becomes quite techy or even geeky.

Modding consoles goes as far as overclocking and cooling solutions. I wouldn't call that overly techy.

I think all topics where people vote should be placed in a New forum topic..
"polls" or sumthing.
Although this probably means Junior members would not see any polls.I dont think it would matter. As they cant vote any way.

This would only really serve to Tidy up the other forum topics.

Also if the topic "polls" was given A couple of sub topics
Maby it could be Like the front and the backroom in the tavern.

This could also allow junior members to feel more apart of the forum By allowing them to vote In the front room type section of the polls forum,
When the Back room section could be reserver for members.

this could serve to help new members Demonstrate their value to the forum in More ways than They are able to in the entrance hall.

No it does not. It goes as far as installing all sort of different memory chips and other stuff, so you can pirate free internet and endless of possibilities. I have a friend that is into it, that's where i heard it.

Yes, I too, have friends that are into it, but they basically install progs into the harddrive of the console and that enables hacks to set in.

Just means they should not argue about a small Factor of a suggestion,
The Dificulty factors of Moding consoles is not the discussion,

That may be true, but knowing the mods on these forums (no offence Tosa), anything in any way related to illegal things wouldn't be allowed. But if this new forum was created, and i was voted by you guys to be its mod, i could be a bit lenient...~;)
