It seems as if only 3 lines are assigned per faction. Here is the BI code entry for the East Roman Empire:

empire_east
hold_regions Thracia Aegyptus Northern_Italy Africa
take_regions 34

Here is the old R:TW code for

romans_julii
imperator
short_campaign outlive_factions
gauls

Only the following seems to be accepted in BI:

empire_east
outlive_factions
lombardi

which seems to include a default take_regions 15

Note that you need to have a new line for the faction that must be destroyed/outlived.
Adding other lines displaces the other factions and displays nothing. So no specific regions can be specified, and no number other than 15 coded. Unless you know different...

This is all display-wise. I will test and report. Hope this helps others.

Can anyone offer help here?

Interesting find Don.

See if it works to both outlive a faction, and take the respective settlements. ~:)

The outlive_factions does work - I just played as the East Empire with a victory of killing off the Lombardi. I did so and (having already 15 regions) the victory scroll appeared.

edyzmedieval,

The ported element (outlive_factions) together with the necessary faction name take up the 3 lines that it seems limited to; so no regions can be named nor the number changed from 15.

However, you can of course still apply that to the standard BI VCs to other factions. At least we have a choice for each faction now.

Thanks Don. ~:)

It's Dol, Dol Guldur ! :)

You can of course list more than one faction (on the same line), and it seems it does not take into account hording so will proclaim you as having won even though the faction may horde (i.e. don't set outlive factions that can horde). More tests to do on that when I get time.

Sorry man. Just watched again Fast n Furious, and Don was Vin Diesel. ~D

Anyways, thanks again. Please do further testing, I am interested. ~:)

Gah, that's annoying. I'd been hoping to make use of a combination of 'outlive_factions' and 'hold_regions'. :\
