I do not understand this warning. I just thought the video was funny. It doesn't link to porn. There is no cussing or violent images. And we discuss politics non-stop back there.

Please explain this to me. I have lost my edit button which severly restricts my ability to assist EB as an organizer.

I am really at a loss to understand what is wrong with this post!

sorry Divinus, this was for the whole thread, which could have been better planned and executed.

I sent you a pm, but I have no issue apeaking on this in public or private.

I am not a major spammer here. Sure, I have spammed a little with the occasional snide comment, but no 20 post spams.

It was not my intent to spam at all. Nobody was online at that time and I just felt like sharing the funny pics I was finding on that site. Now, If I were to have done that in an active thread with lots of viewers, that would be wrong.

I even deleted a couple posts in that thread just to make sure I wasn't breaking forum rules!

okay. I will remove the warning. I believe you.

case closed.

Thank you, Soly.

I appreciate your understanding and judgement on this issue.

I will take greater care in observing the number of posts I post in a row on a thread even when there are few members online.

If serious that's not ethical at all.

Actually I think that viewing member PMs are a "privlege" that can be granted to Mods, administrators, etc.

I know that this is the case for some other forums. It should be no different here.

Gregoshi, thanks for clearing things up. Sad to be seeing you less than the time I was actively posting in the forums for the first time though

Being able to check other people's PMs in serious situations may be essential. I have to admit to be a bit irritated with it, though.

P.S. Oh no, my sentbox is full of..OMG..I should delete them right away..

I'm very sorry Divinus Arma: I've zero say about most forums at other sites.

What?
Where I come from it's a mayor felony to violate someone's private mail.
I don't see why it should be any different just because this mail isn’t written in the more classical sense of the word..

I know that this is the case for some other forums. It should be no different here.vB, by default, makes this difficult if not impossible. I don't think the PMs are encrypted, so it should be possible for someone with direct access to the database to read them if they wanted to, but certainly no one else can in unhacked vB, and I think even what I just described is tricky if even possible. So no, Mithrandir can't view your PMs.

Where I come from it's a mayor felony to violate someone's private mail.Tampering with Postal Service mail is a federal offense. Tampering with other forms of message is not. Viewing something someone submitted to your website definitely isn't, especially since "we're allowed to do anything we want with anything you submit" is doubtless buried somewhere in the TOS.

Nice to see someone from the best country in tha world.

And Simetrical is right, reading your pm's wouldn't be illegal. They have the right to screen anything that is posted on they're site. Even in Belgium.

I'm glad they don't ~:embarresed: ~;)

Permissions screw-up, presumably. Unless it's intentional, which is a frightening thought.
