formations question

is there a way to distinquish between a first cohort and a regular legionary when it comes to player formations?? Can i make formations with first cohorts at the sides, fronts, etc.?

nuts...i think its possible by changing the unit type for one of them, to light or spearmen, but then mutliplayer wouldn't work.

Modded formation files might cause desync in multiplayer anyways, so..

And you can distinguish them from other units by switching their class, that's true. Sorry about that, I totally forgot about that. One good option for the new class would be skirmish, which is completely unused with vanilla units (though you'll have to remove other skirmish entries from df(ai) to get them where you want them to be)
