View Full Version : Ways to increase faction agressiveness??

In my current mod, it is very probable that neighbouring nations (catholic) will never break an alliance at all. In general I like that more than Shogun, but for my mod (and many stock campaign I've played) this is very bad.

I have already set the FactionBehaviour to CATHOLIC_EXPANSIONIST, but I would like to make sure they will attack a certain province one day. The best would be if I could create a campaign starting with two factions already at war.

Any ideas?

The easiest way to do this is to make sure that the religions of the two factions are different. Religon drives a lot of AI conflict. Another way is to start the province weakly held with the opposing faction at its border with a large army.

The diplomacy model in MTW is very weak. There is no 'war' or hostility setting (wouldn't that be nice to have!). It would have been very cool to have a diplomacy element to the game modified by the King's V&V. Breaking an alliance should result in a 'dishonorable vice' for the King and the royal heirs. Helping an ally should likewise result in a virtue. Instead, alliances mean little in MTW like they did in Shogun.
