Model requests!...Greek's need Heavy Cavalry...

Hey guys!

At a point in my campaign where the Romans are getting Praetorian Cav etc and heavy infantry types and I am having trouble standing up to them.

I was wondering if anyone could point me to a link for Greek Heavy Cavalry or possibly make a unit that works with RTW 1.2 and 1.3? :bow:

I have visited rome total heaven and TWC and no luck : (

Maybe we could make this a model request thread or something? TWC has one.

The problem with model request threads is that modellers are in very short supply and tend to have their own projects. You'll be luck to get a model done for you on request. On the other hand, have you tried using parts of existing mods like possibly RTR?

Or just use a heavy phalanx soldier and mount them on a horse.
Problem solved and only text editing is required.

Use the model for Macedonian cavalry. There is already a skin for the GCS in the pak files (it gets used for the Greek Armoured General unit).

I think you have the right idea DimeBago... but I have no idea, well sort of.. I've just spent 2 hours trying to add a unit and got CTD...

Is 1.3 RTW mod unfriendly or something? I double checked all the files etc and even changed the particular modders unit export desc of Alenander... to Alexander...

So, how would I go about adding Heavy Cavalry by just changing the text files and where? And to what?

And ah, guys I suck at this stuff so (I'm trying!!! lol) if you could be just a little generous in your explanation I'd be very grateful.

I just think GC need Heavy Cavalry. Plus they look cool ~;)

If you don't mind the name, the easiest way to do it is just to add greek_cities to the ownership line for Macedonian Cavalry in export_descr_units.txt. *edit* Oh, and also go through export_desc_buildings.txt and add greek_cities to the recruit lines for "greek heavy cavalry" as well.
