what da%^$%$@#$@....
I installed the patch but I couldn't log the game anymore using my no-cd patch (which save me the pain to put the cd back inside)..I had to reinstall the whole game and the patch 1.1...but I can't use the no-cd patch...
does this happened to any of you too?

No-CD patches are generally version-specific. This means that basically, a No-CD patch for version 1.0 will only work for version 1.0 and a BRAND NEW No-CD patch will need to be created for version 1.1. However, I fail to see the need for a No-CD patch, unless the game was *gasp* stolen, but perhaps I may be proven wrong.

I use no-cd patches so I don't have to search through a pile of CDs just to play a game.
Some games I just don't play because I can't be arsed to insert the CD

With the greatest possible respect, expecting us to give a damn about compatibility with no-cd patches is out of the question. At the very least they're an unsupported third-party modification.

stolen???
I don't think that preorder it from amazon.com one month in advance is called "stolen"!
I use no cd-patch for most of my game..including europa universalis 2 and shogun. this is an old debate and this is not the place to do that. My only question was to see if other people had the same problem than me. Nothing else. And finally, this post had no intention to complain about the patch that CA made. Of course you shouldn't give a damn as you said. This is not the point.

Where did you get the No-CD patch from? I searched for it for ages and I couldn't find it...

if you own the damn game, then you don't need a no-CD patch, therefore they should not, never, be supported.
!
.
Because the executable has been modified the no-CD patch will no longer work. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
I am not allowed to say any more than that,
other than :-
being a cat person, if i ever find anyone actually skinning a cat you can bet i will invent more ways to skin people...
:/
The Org's policy is
While recognising it is a personal choice to run the game without the CD in the drive,
and doing so is not piracy as long as you own and keep a legitimate copy of the software, No-CD patch discussions are too close to piracy related discussions.
Thus they could be seen as endorsing Piracy.
Thus, as per the policy,
i must close this thread.
