I like Velite gladiators, chanting units, Hounds of Cullain, RTW German berserkers, Arcani/Pravetorenes are great too.

Any how, Pravetorenes are from BI's Arcani but have sword/shield and a kick ass hooded cloak. They are a WRE unit.

Praevatores are a slightly bigger unit of arcani, and look better too imh.

But they are indeed the counter part of the Arcani seen in 1,2

Well I just had 2 units of Wardogs see off 9 stacks of Britania Warbands and Swordsmen :P

Excellent v lightly armoured enemies like Warbands - When assaulting Gaul. Germania, Britannia - never waste good soldiers. These Wardog Breeders get the numbers up fast again without the need to retrain. So cost effective and saves population use for peasant Garrisons...just use 1 inf unit for sieging, have some cav backup (General so no need to retrain again)...actually they are better at seiges as they dont just chase down 1 enemy - they got to the centre of town and kill all :P

I think you need to be the WRE and have a 3rd or 4th tier barracks toi get praves in BI, you should be able to get Arcani in the usual way.

I haven't played a Roman faction in BI yet, well not for long anyways. But... can you still get Arcani? They kind of blew monkey chunks apart from the fear factor. If I remember right, they weren't armour piercing and as the game went on, became more and more obsolete.
If they exist in BI I guess they are even more obsolete even earlier.

You can get Praventori (sp?) as the WRE, I have an Urban Barracks as the ERE and can't get them so I think you can only get them as the WRE. They are basically Arcani but with a sword and shield.

Its easy to see what units an army is capable of producing
Just go to custom battle and select all the factions you want to view - bearing in mind that the green units are mercs and not producable in campaign mode

[Slug For A Butt]

Clib immortals really rock! I haven't found yet a unit as versatile and devastating. They can take out a half stack army on their own and seem to get exp points easily.
