Ha! :horn:

The Partie Quebecois, one of the two main political parties in Quebec, just elected Andre Boisclair as head of their party. He is very likely to be the next Premiere of Quebec (akin to a very powerful US governor).

He's 39, gay, an admitted cocaine user, and a separatist. (He's also a graduate of the JFK School of Government at Harvard University.)

When this guy gets to run the province, we're going to be party central! Good food, good music, lots of dancing. Yeah baby.

I can't wait for this guy to go to the US to sign multi-billion dollar hydro-electric contracts with conservative US politicians and introduce them to his boyfriend.

It may sound like I'm making fun of gay people but not at all. I have lots of gay friends. I just think this is such a merry kick in the ass to the establishment. If we can at least agree that all politicians are dirtbags, if not outright scum, at least this guy will be colourful.

. . . an admitted cocaine user, and a separatist. (He's also a graduate of the JFK School of Government at Harvard University.)

Personally, I don't see why coke is illegal. When you know it is addictive and act with that in mind, I don't see how you can get addicted... Coke has a smaller impact on your state of mind than a lot of other drugs I can think of.

Paris's mayor is openly gay, too. Doesn't change much, other than subsidies towards lesbian cultural associations have been diverted towards gay ones(yup, you read it right). Basically a non-event.

He's not very good, but once you've compared him to the scum that was here before him, it's easy to understand why this right town votes to the left....
