How do i install the patch???
I dl it and double clicked and it says this will use 35mb of storage space , ok i think and then nothing http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

I have mtw installed on my desktop as i had to install it on a different machine on my lan and then transfer the files across ( disks wouldnt work in my prefered machine either http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif ). could this be it? an abnormal installed location??

It should install to the path
you give it.
As far as I know if can install
the game to the desktop
then you can install the patch
there too.

You must however give the path
the installer.
I can only assume from the information
you have provided that the path
you want should be something
like this:
C\WINDOWS\Desktop\Total War.......

I don't understand the lan
copy thing you speak of
I don't understand why
you can not install the game
in program files neither.

Patch and Registry.
The Patch does NOT require a registry entry to install. If you do not get the option to browse for location you may need to download the patch again.

i tried the download again thing but no joy im afraid http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

ive just turned of my comp and as it shut down about 10 boxes at the bottom flashed up and one asked me my language choice ( i assume this is the patch ) but then my computer shut down aaaargh http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif i tried again and if i check PROCESSES in Ctrl Alt Del i get the patch up as a PROCESS not an application but i cant access it and the same thing happened again when i turned my comp off it flashed up briefly before switch off http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
I am using XP home edition so could that be a problem??????

btw tech support could not help with my original install problem either ( i had the same problem with the demo )

Your not trying to install the patch on a pirated copy of MTW?
