Well, for those of you in the US like me (Brit abroad!); Circuit City - Sold Out, ebGames - Sold Out, Best Buy - Web Site overloaded, Walmart - don't know yet but I am guessing Sold Out!!

So, any success stories out there??

Getting the first batch would probably require you sleeping at the door. I have seen one on display here, I must say that I wasn't impressed at all, some silly 'you are the ball game' that looked like a regular xbox title.

One guy at my school almost managed to win one. He came second in a Halo tourny and so only won an iPod case because they mysteriously downgraded every prize by one place.

My girlfriend, who gets up at 6am, went to a store in a small town and managed to get a Platinum 360 for me.

She won't be back till Friday, but yes, I am in love. :cheerleader:

Don't I know it.

She's also pretty good at covering me with a Covenant Sniper Rifle, which makes taking out brutes and elites a breeze.

Now thats when you know you got a keeper.~D

3 kids went from where I live and stood in line for 10 hours to get one. Very impressive.

A prudent gamer would wait a while longer; wait for the reviews, watch an unfolding games library, and hold on until the PS3 is released to compare notes. $400 U.S. is too much to spend lightly.

On another note X-box 360 was going as high as 5,000$ on E-bay today. Now thats insane.~

And when the PS3 comes out it should force the price of the XBOX 360 down just like the previous ones do when they get competition.

Exactly. Substitutes and variety in the marketplace lower consumer costs.

Yeah. You have to take in account the other two consoles before you buy one.

I don't have it yet and don't plan to get one anytime soon (not much of a console gamer). However, my company has 2 for about a month now (1 for testing the accessories we made for the system, 1 for the showroom). I've been volunteering myself for testing (the one in the showroom) since then ~D .

XBOX 360 + COD2 + a 42 inches plasma TV + an extremely high power, hifi sound system with "action couch" = who cares about working extra hours (even without pay).

I didn't spend much time playing on the old Xbox. So, I can't tell how much better the 360 compares to the old version. However, COD2 on the 360 looks and sounds much better than playing on PS2. How much better? Consider this: If you don't have the mean to deliver truely Hi-Def image and HiFi sound, not much that you could notice (besides the speed). Also, remember that COD2 wasn't made for the 360, so there is not much differences. But, the improvement made by hardware alone is pretty good on the average audio/video system.
