And also, what mod should I play for the original? I heard about mundus mangas and SPQR, but I don't like the one turn recruit thing. I was thinking about Rome totla Realism.

RTR is fun. Remember you can always delete a mod and then get another one, so there's no limit to how many you can try.

I played RTR for a while and liked it and then went back to RTW after the 1.3 patch and they were really different.

AFAIK there´s no mod, yet, for BI but several that will be in the future. Check the mod-section of this forum - both hosted mods and the Forge.

RTR 6.2 is by far the most comprehensive mod IMHO for RTW with a superb huge map, maximum provinces, exellent graphics and über-skins for units etc. However, since you don´t like the one-turn-recruit feature RTR will test your patience since zones of recruitments (ZoR) have been applied. And it takes a long time to get to the barrack level to build decent units: 4-6-8 turns, so it will take you 9 years to build a base infantry unit. Missiles and light cavs can be built after 5.

The one-turn-recruit can you mod yourself. See threads in the modding section. Good luck!

Jidai no Ran will probably release a alpha for MP testing in January when Promethus is finished with his projects in real life.

The 3 BI mods released on the Org in October are all included in the Modding News Roundup - All Hallows Day edition (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=56478).

Since then to my knowledge there's also been:

True Late Roman Army Mod v3.0 (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=56155) by Attilla Reloaded
Rebel Commander (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=57253) - Play as all the emergent factions in BI by myself

I must correct myself from my last post since I found that they released a "4th age - Lord of the Rings demo" for BI.

Last time I looked, RTR 7.0 was going to work with the 1.3 patch. Doing a RTR BI would be a major undertaking, though.

I'd definitely recommend RTR for the original RTW. The slower combat makes it feel more like MTW and you just have more time to savour the graphics, tactics etc. RTW is just so hectic, I never enjoyed the experience as much as I should (zooming in to watch a cavalry charge strike home, for example). Also, the new units and elimination of fantasy ones gives it a more authentic feel, which I enjoyed. The factions have different starting positions and face different difficulty levels. Restricting recruitment to naturalised cities also raises the difficulty level a little and slows things down. (The big downside to RTR is that it is slow - they upped the number of provinces, when BI more sensibly did the opposite). Playing Rome in RTR is a fun experience, providing you discipline yourself and keep to a historic core with half allies (max out on Principes and the game will just be a cake walk).
