Get a point or die match for Fenerbahce versus Milan..
Alex is injured, Luciano and Aurelio are suspended.. Anelka is doubtful to play.
It will be an absolute victory if we can win after these absences.

Well Ajax is through to the next round , ~
Well played match, though the second half was way better than the first.
Anyway, let's hope Fenerbahce beats Miland, would be great for PSV ~D
:balloon2:
Lucky Arsenal boys! Should have lost that match. Thun had a goal disallowed and Arsenal got a penalty...that wasn't...given by the linesman a million miles away...ts ts ts...unlucky, our boys. Well played though.
Going for a UEFA place now.

And you need to beat Sparta Praag right ?
Could be done, since they're having a hard time right now.

We only need a draw against Praq since we won against them at home.

Arsenal were very lucky lastnight. There was bugger all wrong with Thun second goal. I feel for the swiss team as thats the second time they have been screwed over by a late goal to the boring gooners~

It was impossible to see if this team had any tactics any gameplay structure or any single drop of teamwork..
Milan were hard deservers fo the whole match. And coach Daum -as I always said- is a master "freak"ician.. No tactics all over the pitch in any terms at all and Shevchenko bagged in 4 goals..
And it's been a lesson for those blaming Turkish fans for their wildness..
Fenerbahce fans called Milan team towards the sidelines and congratulated them with claps, and they reacted very friendly as well. Shevchenko left the field clapping for the Fenerbahce fans once more.
Briefly, we know how to accept a defeat.

Milan played as good as I have ever seen them play. Seedorf and Shevchenko especially.
And it's been a lesson for those blaming Turkish fans for their wildness.
The blame is not mainly on the Turkish fans but on your officials...

A very fair gesture and one direly needed in Turkish football. Mind you, Fenerbahce was totally outclassed yesterday especially in the second half. There wasn't much point complaining about anything but your own team.
I understand that you had some players missing hence the midfield was lacking a lot...
Briefly, we know how to accept a defeat.
Little choice left really...but again, it's not the people per se but your officials that seem to have a problem to accept defeat.

About the football itself, it was a suicide move to leave the right flank in to hands of Serginho by substituting Mehmet Yozgatli and leaving Serkan there alone. And If Nobre is a Brazilian, I am Bugs Bunny with a tremendous shot power like Jörg Albertz's (remember anyone?)
Servet who was away from the pitch for the last 6 monts, did not play in the last Turkish league match where it would be better in order to gain match fitness. However our "wiseman" Daum played that guy who had been shown 2 red cards last year in this tournament - who has a giant body without a shimmer of football or at least defensive intelligence, right away and against Sheva. Yesterday, Sheva just knocked that bunch of meat down in a 1-on-1 struggle. Thanks to our talented young keeper Volkan who prevented Sheva from scoring another 3 or 4.
I did not read any papers today. But I'm quite sure that they are headlined Fourchenko. They like doing this whenever possible ~D

I read the whole news wrong then, all about Turkish fans being savage, unable to accept a defeat in a civilized way.
Whatever, digging up this stuff will not earn us anything from now on. My purpose to bring it up was to prove that we can accept a defeat in a very beautiful way. It's not only exagerration and generalization easily summed up when Turkey is the subject.

.
Shevchenko's fourth was a work of art. :medievalcheers: The fact that a real team with a working defense wouldn't let him do it is irrelevant. ~:joker:

he scored 4 goals in a Cl match ?
That's pretty good to say the least.
IIRC only van Basten did the same...

AC were dangerous last night and forget Lyons goal, shev second was the best of the night. The touch and the power of the shot was amazing. That player is world class.
Then again watching adriano for Inter was as good. I won't be looking forward to seeing Ukraine or Brazil if they paly England in June with those two on top form

Prso on Monaco against Deportivo had scored 4 in that 8-4 match played in France.

Aah ok, forgot about that match , thanks for clearing that up LEN.
And It is a shame that Shevchenko's Ukranian, their national team never quite makes it ;)
A player like that deserves a better ( international ) team, one might say.
Well , at least I always miss him on a WC or EC.

So that you'll be happy to see him on his national team in the WC finals to be held in the forthcoming summer..
Sheva is one of my favorites too. Italian league -whether the overall quality swings down or up- is not always the best choice of a foreign striker. You know the Italian defence. However as soon as Sheva left Dinamo Kiev for AC Milan, he started scoring and he was the topscorer at the end of his first season at Guiseppe Meazza.

I'm an Sporting Lisbon fan but i must admit Benfica was great last night and deserved to win!!! Great Benfica!!! Good luck for the next group~
Thun made it to the UEFA Cup. Very well done. Finshed third with 4 points. Not bad for a team with about CHF 5 million (£2 million) budget and only 200 club members.
Better than Man U anyway ~;)!

Yes, but Thun's league form isn't anything special this year. I was at St. Jakobspark in October when FC Basel walked over them 5-1, I was expecting more tbh.
Though they have done well in Europe, they can concentrate on improving their league form.

True, Thun hasn't been doing well in the league during the Championship time. I gather, it must be all too much for the little squad with almost half out injured. Although Thun beat Basel twice last year (convincingly too), high losses mean relatively little here in Switzerland. Happens every now and then...more often than not, actually.

Hehe I am in the same boat. Well actually I only really watch England matches now anyway and was only half supporting United and only half keeping an eye on results. But this will prbably tip me over the edge into a pure International follower, Glazer has ruined us :san_angry:

That would be a good game for the finals.
Though that is , if Arsenal manage to do well in Europe this year ;)

For the finals I would like Liverpool vs. Barcelona. Just 'cause they're my favourite teams. But I like Liverpool more.
