It's finally being released in January. (I hope there is no delay again.) A double DVD of the Pink Floyd Pulse concerts. I've been waiting for this for years. They say it took so long to get it out because they wanted to be sure the quality was perfect. This one will test your TV and your sound system to be sure.
I've already got several Floyd DVDs but this one is going to be the icing on the cake. Send the kids to the neighbours, phone off the hook, crank up the surround sound, pour three fingers of bourbon and sit the **** down for two hours of Floyd goodness while the snow falls outside.
Hey BKS! ~

Hate to say it, but I am not looking forward to a Pulse DVD. I don't really like the Pulse concerts; the instrumentals were decent, but they really weren't Floyd quality, and plus, Dave Gilmour's voice gets kinda tiring after a while. The Dark Side concert in London was a lot better, but I have no idea where I can get the bootleg recording of it, and since it wasn't an "official" recording, it will never see a record release- even though it was the best version of Dark Side I have ever heard. ~:mecry:

I have to admit, although I love Pulse, Waters's 'In The Flesh' DVD gives it a run for its money. I'd recommend any discerning Floyd fan check it out, if they haven't already.

That looks really good Floyd has some good stuff althoughI really dont like much of Floyd they scare me to trippy:hide: still a good band overal
BKS,
Well, on your recommendation I'm going to get In The Flesh. I've passed it by a hundred times for some reason. Odd. I saw Waters's solo Hitchhikers show in Montreal years ago and it was amazing. Like Floyd (sans Waters) but more of a twisted circus atmosphere at times.
Zorba,
I have the Dark Side Live in London tape. Back around 1980, I knew a guy who ran a record shop and had all the bootleg albums for sale. Most were $15 or $20. I was making $2.50 an hour as a security guard, so the albums were just too expensive. But the guy would tape them for me for $5.
Anyway, the London show, though the quality is scratchy, is very good. Harsher, more guttural, less refined. The whole synth solo of the guy running through the airport, for those who haven't heard it, is just Gilmour doing a very neat jazzy guitar riff. Excellent.

I've always had a soft spot for the Pompeii concert myself.

Seconded. It's very good.
