Yes, i'm so bored i've come to the point of wondering: what kind of computers are all the .Orgahs using, and what kind of games can they run? Mine is:
AMD Athlon64 3200+ processor
ATI X800 Graphics card
1GB RAM
Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 93SB Monitor
It can run games like Far Cry, Black and White 2 and Half-life 2 at max settings

I'm using a PC with...
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
ATI 9800 graphics card
1 GB of ram
and a monitor I've had for several years
It runs every game I have absolutely beautifully ~:cheers:
Intel pentium 4 2,8 Ghz
Radeon 9500 PRO /9700 graphics card
512 MB RAM
Acer 17" flatscreen
It can run RTW/BI and CoD2 on maximum, and F.E.A.R. on medium.

MSI K7N2 Delta-L Mainboard
512 MB DDR-RAM
Inno3D Geforce FX5600
Western Digital 80 GB 8MB cache IDE

I've got a poor system, so I won't bother to post it, but can you guys tell me what cheap, really powerful graphics card I could get?

Here's mine, not sure what the specs are, but it won't run Rome Total War ~:(

Zalmoxis, check out GeForce FX 5700s, but if you have money try 6600 GT video cards. Both cards have Nvidia chipsets. FX 5700 is a bottom-line for good cards, though. It will be obsolete in a year or so.

P4M 2Ghz
512 Mb RAM
64Mb GeForce4 440Go
Yeah. It's a laptop. Dell C840.
Three years old now - it's creaking at the seams (I think I have less than 2 Gbs free space).
AMD Athlon XP -- don't remember what it was originally spec'd at, but it's OCed to 2 ghz.
Radeon 9700 pro
1 gig of no-name RAM
Nforce 2 mobo
Runs Rome pretty darn well, although it's getting creaky with the newer games. I'll probably replace the whole box next time an unexpected check shows up.
P4 2.8 Ghz
Radeon 9800 Pro
2 GB RAM
MICRO-STAR INC (MS-6758)
Some Hitachi Monitor (several years old)
Runs anything I can throw at it, really!

* Nvidia GeForce 2 64MB MX Gfx Card
* Intel Pentium 4 2GHz Processor
* Intel 533MHz 845E Max Chipset Motherboard
* 512MB DDR RAM
* 17" VDU
* 40GB HD
* 40x12x48x speed CD-RW drive, also DVD drive
* Good speakers, no earphone port though
* X th keyboard
* Trackball Mouse
* Ergonomic keyboard and mouse wrist support
It well over 3 years old now, might have to retire it soon. Also contains a reasonably sized dent on the left side of the tower, signs of old age ~D
It can run games like Far Cry, Black and White 2 and Half-life 2 at max settings
Max settings?! ~:confused: What are those?! ~D
Screw pc! I got an imac G4 with 800mhz, it is faster then it sounds and looks so much sexier then a pc. And yes, MTW works on it ~;)
P4M 2Ghz
512 Mb RAM
64Mb GeForce4 440Go
Yeah. It's a laptop. Dell C840.
My boss have one just like you but with
1024MB RAM and 2,4GHz P4M CPU
I have a
Centrino tech. Pentium M 1,6 GHz
1024 MB RAM
32 MB ATI Radeon 9000
and it drives circles around my boss' machine to his despair(it excels on every benchmark we have).
My next machine (maybe sooner that I had thought ~D ) will have the top CPU of the Centrino technology, 2048 MB RAM, at least 256 MB Graphic card etc.
One of these days I'll have to get myself a new stationary machine.
My old P4 1,8GHz, 512MB RAM, 64MB GeForce4 is an ancient relic from Australia.

The highest graphics settings, other wise referred to as max settings. Any computer capable of running HL2 at max is generally considered as some sort of godly supercomputer.

...
2ghz P4, 768mb DDR 266 Ram, Radeon 9800se AiW. Pretty bad really. I used to be able to overclock it hugely, but all the heatsinks fell off. So now I can't without it swearing at me and being awkward.
I need a new machine. Just so much money... :(

Sorry, my sarcasm didn't work...the damn smilies ruined it ~D
I've never been able to use max settings on the latest games due to my awful hardware spec as listed above. They stopped releasing the latest drivers for Nvidia GeForce 2 gfx cards years ago curse those fools, will get an ATI next time round ~D
I was impressed with HL2 though, despite my hardware limitations OK, I'll stop moaning now ~D. Its made a complete breakthrough with its ragdoll physics engine, very stunning.

That's better than my most recent computer was. ATI Radeon 9600, 512MB RAM, 1.8 AMD Athlon32 +2200 processor overclocked to 2.2. That computer had to go because 1, it was old, and 2, the overclocked processor was on the brink of collapse. It had an absolutely huge fan and heatsink, but kept giving up on hot summers days so that you couldn't use the computer.

Christmas is on the near horizon...twist a few arms and wallets ~D
Mine's a little old (2+ years), I'm thinking about upgrading since it chunks running the newer games.
Athlon 2400+
Radeon 9700 with 256 Mbytes
512 Mbytes RAM
19" Sony Trinitron monitor and 17" Viewsonic flatscreen (two-headed monster)
A new AMD 64-bit machine (maybe dual core) with the almost-latest vid card is in my future, and I'll probably get my girl a laptop to a) keep her off my machine and b) allow me to play games while we're traveling. ~D

For those who have overclocked but had to step back even though they had installed heatsinks and fans : Did you try getting a new case with 4 fans ?

I have:
Athlon64 3500+ running at 2.2 ghz, but which I should re-overclock to 2.4 relatively soon, that makes it the equivalent of an FX-53/4000+.
nForce4 Gigabyte mobo
1024mb's of CAS 2 Kingston RAM (With blue heatspreaders!!!)
BFG 6800GT factory overclocked 20mhz with a lifetime warranty
Audigy something ZS sound card, not too important what it is, it runs my 5.1 speakers well.
250gb Seagate hard drive and an 80gb Maxtor
19" Samsung CRT
Logitech speakers
And the crowning glory of it all, a Logitech Trackman!~:cool:
That last bit was at least mostly sarcastic.
pentium 4 3.2 Ghz
512 Mb RAM
ati radeon 9800 XT 256Mb
200GB HD
2 decent DVD reader/writers
and a verry irritating optical USB mouse.

Thanks Left, I was actually thinking of getting the GeForce 6800 XT. Maybe even replace my old AMD XP with a newer version, but after seeing the price, I think I'd rather just have the graphics card only.

...
I've got an old slightly creaky 3-4 year old system. However, it's not died and I have no money to spare and I rarely play anything mroe advanced then RTW (and at that rarely, I play medieval or chess games more)
2.4ghz P4
512 ram (2700)
80gb Maxtor something or other
5600XT
Some creaky old LCD (by a no name brand)
Does the job so who cares? I don't play all these new FPS games, I'm spending the time pumping iron these days ~D
