Since he and the party (and government) he leads were criticised for undermining the democratic process, Bliar has swung into action and is poised to rid himself of this turbulent organization that holds free and fair elections paramount in a mature democracy.
I've said it before and I shall continue to say it. This man has no regard for democracy and is a menace to our freedoms...
Relations between the Electoral Commission and the Government all but broke down this year after the watchdog’s persistent warnings over postal vote fraud. The Government claimed that the fears were overstated despite 17 police investigations concerning alleged electoral fraud. Ministers were furious when the commission advised against all postal voting.
