I was a lefty, until age 8, when I started catholic school and the nuns disabused me of that evil. :)
Somewhat oddly, I still do many things (especially ones I learnt before age 8) as a lefty, and my right-handed penmanship is only vaguely legible.
So: Left, Right, or (gasp!) Ambi?

Right it is, but left when cleaning it off. ~D

...
I too was the object of the nun's wrath, they never realized how sinister I was. After the 3rd grade they gave up and let me write with the wrong hand.
I am still predominantly left-handed.

I'm righthanded, but my left hand does all the heavy lifting. That always seemed odd to me but it does make sense as it keeps the skilled hand free to operate doors, keys, etc. And that folks, is your boring observation of the day.~:handball:
Right-handed, although I was sort of ambi when I was younger. My grandfather noticed that I sighted with my left eye when shooting, and I have no idea what that signifies.
Why do lefties get a bad rap historically? Is there anything to it, some event or superstition that made left bad? I never understood it.

Im right handed. But my left hand knows some stuff, becouse once i got my right arm broken for about 3 months. So i had to learn to do some stuff with my left hand. It was kind of funny and sad at the same time. The using of keyes and fork and trying to write with my left hand was pretty challengin. I still occasionally realize that im smoking or using my cell phone with my left hand.~:)

I'm right handed but I'm left-footed. I kick better with my left foot. It's really weird. Right-handed people mostly use their right legs aswell.

Left-handed people are usually more successful than the others. They thus make the majority of right-handed people jealous.
Btw, I'm left-handed ~D
Ask a serious question, get a silly answer. Fair enough.
Does anyone want to take a stab at the topic, though? Where does the left-handed stigma originate?

I'm not sure, but it seemed that because the majority of people evolve as right-handed people and only a few people were lefty. It had something to do with the brains, leftys were more creative because they used their lefts more often and the left was controlled by the right hemisphere of the brain and that's the part where all the creative processes take place.
The rightys are controlled by the left hemisphere and are not so creative. Well, that's what science said.
I'm not sure how the stigma came, one of my friend did a presentation on it but I wasn't really paying attention. ~:handball:
I'm a right-handed but my thinking processes is controlled by my right hemisphere since I can't think logically and my thinking is kinda 'wierd' from the left hemisphere controlled people.

Hrrm, this is only half remembered so there will be mistakes no doubt.
Sinistere was Latin for left and is where we get our word for sinister, thought they didn't use it as we so.
Leftiness was associatede witht he moon and femalehood and when the Church took over was corresponded in kind with paganism in the form of lunar deities and satan.
Other than that, I know there are sexual connotations associated with the left hand in Hinduism and possibly Buddhism too.
Maybe a topic in the Monastery is in order, they know an awful lot in there!~D
Oh and my case is funny, I use both hands but am not ambidextrous as if I do one thing with one hand, I usually can't do it with the other. Like I write with my right, but fence with my left.

There was an urban myth once I heard - that the left-handiness genes had disappeared years ago, so that the today's left-handies are...erm..different (it'll sound sillier than ever if I say "aliens")
Bwahahahaha.. I'm serious, I had really heard that..
I am ambidextrous, but prefer the right hand.

Well, I've not tackled the 'stigma' bit, but there is some science involved http://www3.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/dispomim.cgi?id=139900 , tho' it's inconclusive as to the cause of handedness, or the preference of one for the other.
Genes, environment, brain/speech function...no one knows for certain (yet); that's why I wondered if gamers in general, or Org-sters in particular, were more or less than the global 10-12% lefty population.
I'll see what I can find on the sinister stuff in history.
Right handed. Always been.

Well, seriously, a lot of known people are left-handed (or were probably left handed).
Just to name a few,
Jules Cesar
Napoléon
Albert Einstein
Leonardo da Vinci
Louis XVI
Queen Victoria
Bill Gates
Bill Clinton
Bush sr.
Benjamin Netanyahu
Alexander the Great
Charlemagne
Henry Ford
David Rockefeller
Lewis Carroll
H.G. Wells
Kurt Cobain
Jimi Hendrix
Emanuel Bach
Michelangelo
Charlie Chaplin
Robert DeNiro
John McEnroe
etc.
I think I heard that left-handed people are usually more 'successful' than right-handed ones, given the different ratios for each of them.
As for the reason they were considered as weird, this site (http://www.indiana.edu/~primate/lspeak.html) might have an answer. I think it's simply because they were a different minority.

I'm lefthanded, for the most part. I eat, write, and throw with my left hand. Some things I do righthanded however, like firing hanguns and rifles, though I lead with my right when fighting with blades, clubs, or my body. Piano training favors the right hand, so perhaps this affected my development somewhat.

I'm not sure if I remember this right and I can't tell you where it is, but I believe the right hand had special significance in the old testament and any 'holy' actions were to be taken with the right hand. Using the left hand in such circumstances would be disrespectful, and at least in the Judeo-Christian world could by extension lead to a general stigma against lefties or leftiness. Not sure about other traditions, though.

I write with my left hand, and eat left handed. But everything else is right-handed, mainly because you need special equipment to learn left-handed (golf). Kick with my right too.
I voted left.

Left dominant eye probably. I'm right handed but shoot left handed for that reason. You get used to it, even with bolt actions.

I do believe that 'Satan' used to sit on God's left, which is why it is evil. Don't ask me though, i don't follow Christianity.

Why thank you LEN, I didn't know that, though it does explain my supernatural soccer talent...~;p ~;)
As for soccer, I prefer the left side of the defence, or midfield - and if I have to choose I'd say midfield.

Almost the same position on the opposite side, mate. That gives you both taste of defence and a lot chance to dribble and show tricks ~;)

Left for football shooting....
Switched.
I use my shot a gun left handed, but write right handed. Just two examples.
