My dad was watching the show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and he told me to change the channel to it to see the question. It was:
"In 218 Hannibal crossed the Alps to capture what city?"
A. Syracuse
B. Rome
C. Gaul
D. Constantinople
At first you might say, "That's not that hard, why is this idiot telling me this?"
It was the $500,000 question. If he got that he would have had only one more question before winning the show (very rare).
Not only that, but he had to use a lifeline(phone a friend) and neither his lifeline(a lawyer) nor him could get 100% sure that they had the correct answer.
He walked...:hide:

Glad to know some unworthy one didn't win something, at least for once. ~:)

I dont find this question to be easy...
The millionaire is either a big scum (as most TV shows) or the questions are easy but picked up to be hard to the questioned person.
If they asked an elderly lady who scored the winning goal of the world cup in1986, she wouldnt tell but if one asked me about a recipy of a food I wouldnt answer no matter how easy the question was...

You are right. To me it seems silly, but there are those who don't have the same passion as us...

I always noticed watching that show that people would breeze by questions about celebrities or country music, etc. that I would be helpless to answer. Then they get to the 'easy' one about history or geography that I know before they even give the choices, and the contestant uses all three lifelines, sometimes still failing to get it.
Everyone just knows different things, and us abnormal folk just know the uncommon ones and get stumped on everyday stuff.

I used to watch that show so much. Once a super model said the Romans spoke Italian. Some other guy said that Hannibla crossed the Alps with llamas.

Yep..And Hannibal crossed the Alps to conquer Kyoto - where natives were speaking Sindarin - and not on llamas, on tractors..
