View Full Version : Katamari Damacy
The demo for this crazy stoopid game came on the same disk as the Spartan demo for PS2.
If you A) play PS2, B) like unique games, C) dig Japanese culture D) love goofy stuff, and E) ever wanted to roll the entire world up into a big ball, this is the game.
The soundtrack is totally funky, the concept is cool, and it is very different from most other games.

ichi, I tried the We  Katamari demo (the sequel to Damacy) after you mentioned it elsewhere and it seems to be a "fun" game in just about every aspect - game play, music, dialog. It doesn't take itself seriously the characters in the demo admit it is all about the fun of "rolling up" things with a katamari. I bought Damacy for my dad for Christmas as he was looking for this type of a game (not shooting, killing, racing or sports). I'm tempted to get Damacy myself as it seems you can roll up a lot more (maybe I'm wrong).
I ignored all the rave reviews and comments about this game in the press because it seemed "stupid". Well, it seems I was the one that was stupid.:embarassed:

Availability in PAL format: the frog demands details! I remember reading a tiny snippet somewhere a while ago, saying that at last, by popular demand, the series was coming to the UK. And now I still can't find the game ...
Aaaarrrgh! This game is another log on the fire that is my mind when I think about Japan. It's so bizarre in every department that I can't even laugh, only stare and eventually cringe. My friend bought the sequel and playing it was ridiculous enough, but then he got the soundtrack and insists on listening to it all the time.
Fun game, though.
