As you may know, Battlefield games are an original formula. It goes like this: You have classes, like medic, anti-tank and support. They all have different weapons. Each side had different weapons. You also have like aircraft and tanks. You can go right in there. No . There is no real objective like blowing up something. You just capture and take the enemies tickets.
Here is the review of BF2 (Strangely, BF2 is actually the third in the series.)
Impression on gamer: 9/10
First, when I found out about BF2 I was extremely excited, as I played BF: Vietnam. I loved the game, but wished for more. So you know why I was excited. I looked at the preview. It said things like the planes are much easier to use. (Vietnam was a joke in this level of enemies.) Also there would be ranks and as you progressed through the ranks you got more accurate and also, you would have more chance of being commander. And you also had more guns to use. When it came out, I rushed to the shops to buy a copy. I was so excited I could not wait for it to finish installing. When I started playing it I was amazed.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics were brilliant. It was actually almost a match to Halflife 2. I had to put it down to low because it lagged when I put it high. But it was still great. You could see fighting down below when in planes or helis, tanks firing, snipers on the rooftops, brilliant! The physics were brilliant too. I got a tank rocket directly on me and I went flying, I then seen myself crash into a wall, then it bounced off. I was astounded. Plus, I liked to see the fireworks when you blew up a bridge with C4. I once had a apc and tank coming across it. The explosions were brilliant. Also, I got two kills.~;)
Performance:4/10
Sadly the game was framy unless you put almost everything down to low. And when atrilley missle strikes directly, it got a bit framy. That was a bit dissapointing.
Sound: 8/10
The sounds were good. The sounds were realistic, and the music was good. I like the music in the main menu, and the music when you waited for loading. It wasn't annoying like most music does when you hear it a thousand times. One missing feature was listening to music in BF:V when you were in a veicle. You listened to music made in that era, or you could listen to your own music. I wish they would bring out a patch for adding the feature.
Gameplay: 20/10
The gameplay was brilliant and varied. One thing is that each class has a different armor. Special forces had none, while assualt had a lot. And the other clasees had different armor, as well. (In case you thought they were only two classes that had different armor.) There were 7 classes: Special forces, sniper, engineer, medic, assualt, anti-tank and support.
Each has it's own purpose. Special forces, for example, has C4 so they can put it on tanks and atrilley pieces. Support had the heavy machinegun, like the M60. (Of course they haven't got that in the game, it's just I can't remember the name.) and thay gave out ammo. They also have a new feature, squads. Basically, someone makes a squad, people join it, squadleader gives out orders and requests for atrilley strikes and the like, you know. The commander is head of the team, and sends out orders to ALL the squads, can send a box of supplies by parachute for example. (They are like a repair station, medic box, and ammo box all in one.) It's unlimited until it's destroyed. they send out UAV scans. That's just a scan from space (Satellites from space, duh!) on a place showing the enemies whereabouts.
In conclusoon, I think that this game is brillliant, and you should buy it, hours of enjoyment await you!
I brought it and frankly hate it. Too twitchy for me. Not enough teamwork (too many stat-whores), imbalanced vehicles (Black Hawks for example), and it runs like a three legged donkey. Many of the maps are huge to accomodate the jet planes but this can make infantry combat a pain (especially when people drive off alone in a heli or APC). Difficult to admin effectively, even on the better servers like WOLF, and thus full of smacks. Most importantly I like to hit where I aim. I like to hit if my aim is true and miss if my arm is bad. The guns in BF2 seem to work in a cone of fire kind of way which I hate.
On the plus side it does look good if your computer can handle it, the maps scale according to the maximum server population and it can be fun when you do get some decent teamwork going.
I still play the BF1942 mod Forgotten Hope nearly daily on the WOLF server and love it. I look forward to FH2 on the BF2 engine, but cannot play BF2 vanilla.
i disagree on some points there slyspy, the weapons are actually quite accurate to the shooter, it just takes skill, i quite often out snipe a sniper with the standard assault weapon, you just need to aim my friend :D
as for the vehicles and balance, sure the black hawk is completly dominant over the MEC equivelant, but its much easier to shoot people out of the hawk than the MEC chopper, but in any case i tend to shy away from chopper whores and thier sport. You should get SF, its much more inf focused, so there is hardly any of the nuisence that is enemy planes
I don't mean imbalanced in relation to each other (though, as you say, they sometimes are), but in the game overall. The lack of effective ground-to-air is a pain. Drive a tank and there are AT guys everywhere, fly a heli or, worse, a jet and you needn't worry about the vast majority of the opposition. Why was there not an AA infantry class? Also I disagree about the accuracy thing. I'm aware of course that it requires practice and skill to hit and that is not what I'm talking about, nor what I aspire to. Try any of the LMGs, for example, and you will see what I mean about the way it is modelled.
hahaha you are trying to be accurate with an LMG? thats just pathetic thinking imo, in RL LMGs arent at all very accurate, they are corridor cleaners, not meant for long range shooting. If u want accuracy use any of the selection of rifles and rifle kits in game. medic/spec ops and assault all use rifles, meant for accuracy over RoF
I would suggest that in short bursts LMGs are rather more accurate then BF models, which is more like a shotgun cone! No doubt some of our military Orgahs would know for sure. I just know that it doesn't feel right to me and, added to the other flaws, ruins the game for me. I would appreciate it if you stop with the laughter as well. Thanks.

Played PS2 BF2... the sniper upgrade makes it easy to take down enemy aircraft... or you could shoot the pilots with a sniper rifle ... which I have done.
Also most maps in which infantry is supposed to be able to shoot down aircraft come with static stinger launchers... something that took me a while to figure out... also redoing earlier levels and doing challenges helps boost the amount of stars and hence unlocks more weapons on the PS2.
I find that using assault rifles to shoot down parachuters from helos is a very easy way to increase kill count.
Also shotguns are as always way cool... but I don't think I have achieved a perfect score with a single magazine yet... eight shots/ eight kills.
The ability to hotswap between soldiers is a feature of the PS2 game (not sure if it is even available on PC) and is used in various challenge levels... if you don't hotswap enough to key points you might find it hard to pick up any teamplayer stars... unfortunately I play one of 3 styles, sniper, flanker or point... not in the middle gathering so called team player points...
Ah, Battlefield 2…
Sadly I haven’t got the specs for it yet. (At least 128MB Graphics card is required).
I have been a regular Desert Combat player and I will probably convert when I get a better computer.
As to shooting accuracy: You mean to tell me that they have put ballistics into the game? As in you will hit where you aim at 30 and 200 meters? At 100 meters you have to aim low and at 300 meters you have to aim high? Damn… those bastards!!! ~D

Erm that doesn't sound like quite the same game to me - I think the two formats must be rather different.

No. I mean exactly the opposite. The ballistics, if there actually are any, feel way off.
You dont have to compensate much. The bullets fly almost straight (talking about vanilla). But you do have to compensate for "dispersion".
Sinan probably got it right.
If you are trying to shoot more than single shots, the dispersion effect from recoil will put your aim of the mark.
Anyone that has fired an Assault gun in "Family" mode knows this. I was sharpshooter in my squad (Navy) which means I was responsible for targets in range above that of 200 meters. On shooting ranges with dynamic targets I had to start the “game” by shooting a target with the aprox. range of 300 meters. I used an ordinary AG3 (which is identical with the HK G3 Assault gun) without scope. I had to aim about 10 cm (on my particular AG3) above the target to hit dead center.
Shooting burst gave dispersion on 2 of the 3 shots. Family (Full Auto) mode just gave you a wildcat that was difficult to handle with the shots going everywhere which is what you need when the enemy is nearly upon you.
[edit]: on windy days you had to compensate a little (not too much).

I would have it but I found out I need like twice as much RAM that I have to run it

I have a question: How does one get into a Multiplayer game on BF2. I went into the lobby but that was about all I could do. Talk to me like I'm an idiot (like you would normally).
Thanks in advance
