When I joined a forum at http://www.Dreamviews.com They have a team that welcomes new members. I noticed the samething at http://deviantart.com They pm you a message suggesting areas to check out and provide answers via pm's for other questions. It breaks the new member ice so to speak. Would this be something the .org could, would, should do?

There already is a welcoming team, but they don't go as far as PMing new members. If people wanna lurk, let them. If they wanna post, I don't think our community is unfriendly enough to drive them away ~;)

We sort of have a welcome team. The entire .Org. Most new people's first posts e.g. if it's a question, will have their question answered, and usually at the end of the answer a little message along the lines of 'Welcome to the .Org!'

We're a friendly bunch.

This board, and many others, sends out PM's to new members and here are also topics, even a forum to help out new members. The Entrance Hall is extra looked at by many people to welcome new members and help them out with any problem they have. What is missing?

You can help out joining the unofficial voluntary welcoming parade consisting of several of us from time to time. ~;) Legal spam is added bonus. :evil:
