Hi everyone,
Firstly if this has been spoken of before please delete it after referring me to it ~:) .
Now, in 1.2, removing the unit selection arrows and floating banners was easy - just change a few lines in preferences.txt. In 1.3 I have made the same changes to the txt file but to no avail? Is there a solution?
Also, is it possible to remove the sparkle effect when units level up?
Thanks anyone who has information, good or bad.

Now the file containing the working preferences for RTW 1.3 is Rome - Total War\preferences\preferences.txt
Changing the former Rome - Total War\preferences.txt doesn't change anything.

Wunderbar! Thanks Monkwarrior. Is there a way to turn off the experience sparkles? I couldn't see it in the preferences/ Preferences.txt

This feature kills the RTS element IMO, and turns it into a console game. Wonder if they've taken it from Spartan: Total Warrior? ~
Yeah, it would be good to turn this feature off, or remove it completely.

The release info for the 1.6 patch says there'll be an option to turn it off.

Hmmm. I'll look that up... Strange that they didn't include that option when they added the effect in the first place!

1.5 will patch RTW, 1.6 will patch BI. They should both be released at the same time though.

Is there a thread with info on 1.5/6 somewhere? (if so where)
