Apologies for these queries but I've a lot on and need some pointers to posts that may have discussed this.

1. Have provincial campaigns in BI been successfully implemented? And if so, where can I find out more about how it is done?

2. Can someone point me to information about the BI mod switcher; how comprehensive is it? What are its limits?

Thx & What happened to the forum skin!

About the switcher: You need a full copy of all the files in you folder, so doubles the space of the game. It is perfect fo modding purposes though, since you do not risk messing up you vanilla copy, and you can play around with it quite alot.

And I have seen provincial campaigns implented (I have one on my harddrive somewhere), it works in the same way as 1.3. I have succefully implentend one, even, now when I tihnk of it:) I just did as I did on vanilla 1.2.

Sorry 'bout the unclear feeling, I am kinda tired;)

That's good - I just need to find some posts or an example then of provincial campaigns. Thanks.

OK,

BI looks different to the RTW set-up; I could not get it to work. Can someone point me to either some instruction on getting a provincial campaign working in BI or to a downloadable mod of a provincial campaign made for BI...

Thx.

Well you can get a provincial campaign of sorts going in BI just by copying your existing Barbarian_Invasion campaign folder and pasting it as another name into the bi\data\world\maps\campaign folder. For some reason on the Faction Selection screen in a provincial campaign, some of the options are missing, but these can be selected in the main gameplay menu on the strat map.

You need some new strings in the region files (religon stuff), and create a .hgt fiel if you haven't done that but otherwaise most stuff works like before... You can have you files in the provincial map only...

Oh yes, you need to add:
marian_reforms_disabled
rebelling_characters_active
gladiator_uprising_disabled
night_battles_enabled
brigand_spawn_value 10
pirate_spawn_value 12

After start and end years and:

In the diplomcy section of descr_strat, if you convert a map... The other new files aren't neccissery (this is what I did with our map anyway...)

I should clarify that I am seeking to create a provincial map and campaign, coded in BI, from a BI modded campaign.

The last post would seem to indicate I am porting from R:TW. I am not.

I am fully aware that a "provincial campaign" shows up if you stick a folder in there too ;)

So, the answer to the question is that no one has successfully set up a full provincial campaign (with it's own provincial map) in BI? :(

Andreas

No, but then I haven't tried... I have only ported the WoT map.

I don't have BI, but aren't people saying BI's map rwm generation is broken? That would put the kibosh on provincial campaigns.

I have had no problem with map generation and have even added a new building...but I seem to remember reading an implication from a CA staff member that there was a generation error.

Still, this is off the thread topic
