View Full Version : RTW v1.5 Naval invasions working

Patch v1.6 for RTW/BI installed fine for me.

Played 10 turns of a Julii campaign, and naval invasions in RTW v1.5 appear to be working correctly. Brutii transported multiple armies by ship to Greece, and Scipii moved an army to Sicily and later sent one from Sicily to Greece where it was defeated. Greece is also transporting armies around on ships, and Britannia moved more than one army from Britian to the continent.

Another thing I noticed is that election to senate offices is now announced in a popup.

How about the pilum ??
Do they throw their pilums now ??

I had a volley of pila thrown at me in a custom battle, so yes they do throw 1 volley prior to engaging.

Yes. AI hastati throw their pilum before charging, and they throw them later in the fighting if they have an opportunity to do so. The large unit (80 men) 4 hastati vs 4 hastati custom battle fight lasted about 5 minutes. After fighting for quite a while, the AI hastati general did disengage and recharge on a flank. It looked like a reasonable move since my unit couldn't pursue since it was engaged with two enemy units. Out of 321 hastati on each side, I killed 271 and lost 227 at the point the end battle option popped up. No upgrades were used, and these units didn't break quickly.

Well that's good news Puzz. Thanks for the early feedback.

Let's just hope the archer and skirmisher battle AI is better too.
