I'm trying to create a brand new campaign map from scratch. I've created all the necessary map files and such, and edited the appropriate text files. I'm just attempting to pin down the CTD I'm getting after the progress bar is full in the campaign loading screen.
If the rwm map is created by the game, does that mean the map was sucessfully generated by the engine?
Does that generally mean that there is something wrong with the text files? (I guess that's two questions, actually. :san_tongue: )
Thanks in advance.

The map.rwm is generated right at the beginning, so its probable descr_strat>

Has anyone succeeded at making a brand new campaign map for 1.3 or 1.5? I heard conflicting rumors, some said that RTW can no longer generate new map.rwm so new maps are completely borked.

I was trying to convert my 1.2 map to 1.3, but there was a problem of CTD just when the loading bar arrived to the end.
With 1.5, exactly the same files allow to play the campaign, but it is very unstable.
I mean that I've played some turns (up to 12), and sometimes there is no problem, but some other times the campaign CTD (with no error message) even in the first turn and without doing anything (or only moving on the map).:san_huh:

Yes. WarMap, which was made with 1.2 and then converted to 1.3, 1.5 no problems. no ctd's and it is huge. If anything the improved show_err reporting has made it easier.
1.5 does not need the map_heights.hgt.
