Hello, rzajac, welcome to the Org ~ , and congratulations on finding, right away, the best places to post your problem (here and the Apothecary).

Your listed hardware greatly exceeds what STW/MI requires for optimal play, so I suspect the interferance of some other device or program.

My first move would be to uninstall, re-boot to safe mode (so no other program or device is running), then re-install. Reboot again. Try to fire it up.

If that doesn't work, we'll have to go down the long list of programs/processes running on your machine, to see which one(s) are stopping your game from starting.

p.s. Question: do you ever see the short vid-clip of a samurai practicing at dawn with his weapon, before you crash-to-desktop?

OK will do thanks - did not try the safe mode install yet

Hello again form rzajac
I tried what Kukrikhan suggested (reinstall in safe mode ) but that did not work. I also tried starting the program with my virus protection off (Norton and AVG) but that did not work - also turned off my wirelss keyboard (Logitech ) software and still no start.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Rzajac

Bummer - so much for the easy answers. Now for the more tedious diagnoses.

First: all other games work OK?

Next: Click Start>run>dxdiag>OK, run the tests, click 'Save All Info' , post the results here (or the Apothecary). It'll take awhile to drill thru those results, but the report should tell us - or give a clue - what is preventing gameStart.

Actually its fixed ! :san_smiley: I went through almost all the post on the Apothecary section and found one that refereed to the same problem and the solution was to upgrade the safedisk driver (at Macrovision)

Thanks for responding and good gaming!
