View Full Version : RTW conqering entire map
Hello to everyone in the guild!!
I am new to Rome Total War, and I've found this site to be extremely helpful since I discovered it a week ago. I only wish I had found it before when I was till playing MTW. But anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows a way to keep playing the game until you have conqured the entire map instead of the game ending when you get 50 provinces? I know it will probably get pretty boring after reaching the 50 province mark, but I would like to at least once own the entire map if its possible. Thanks in advance for any help that can be given. Happy New Year!!

If your patched to the latest update, you get a choice to keep playing or accept victory and exit. Anyways if you don't want the latest patch, hit control S or esc and save the game, get booted back to the main menu and load it back up. Also there is nothing special that hapens for conquering the whole map

Nothing? You get another nice clip, some invigorating music, and of course, a nice description of what you did.

Thanks very much for the replies. I guess I should have read my manual a bit more dilligently. I thought that you had to mod the game in order to get it to play until you conquered the whole map. Thankyou very much for your help.

Apperently the person that wrote that forgot about...the rest of the world.
So you just press cntrlS when the celebration screeny thing comes up?
(I'm still in first campaign, so i have no idea what comes up when you reach 50. But ir would be nice to rule all. As Julii I seem to only fight barbarians etc, no exciting units such as elephants)

Depends, if you're playing with the later patches you can choose to play on or to end the campaign when you reach the 50 provinces limit (as Oaty mentionned earlier). In the earlier version (1.1 I suppose), I believe the game just ends when you conquer your 50th province, so you have to work around this if you want to game on.
To conquer all in earlier patches, all you'd need to do was conquer Rome, then let it rebel. If Rome was in the last 50 provinces, just isolate it, and conquer it last.

Okay thanks.
Probably will not try getting all provinces on second thoughts. I took Carthaginian town as it was in Spain (my main exped force was there) then suddenly realised it was their last settlement and thus I could play as them in future campaigns.
Also this current one isnt going too well, probably not well enough to get all 50. I own Rome, but have no real naval presence and so moving troops around from Germania, Spain and Gaul back to Rome to fight Brutii and Scipii is not effective at all. I had to hire many merceneries to swell my ranks which in turn has given me almost 0 money. It's salvagable but I think first I may have to give up a couple of provinces which border the Brutii controlled Greek cities (they have many full armies in there). I am currently sieging carthage just to get a large quick boost to the treasury, as Julii I dont really care about Africa so il just move my armies out and let it rebel.
