I hate to ask this question and if anyone wants to pm me the answer and delete this thread I will be ok with that. I have been looking for a way to take screen shots and/or looking for where those screen shots might end up, but I haven't found it on this site nor in any of the files of my game (BI). I would like to post some funny pics I have seen in the game, but without the SS I got nothin'.
So if someone wouldn't mind enlightening me I would be appreciative.

I haven't played BI a lot yet but in RTW vanilla you just had to hit the "PrintScreen" button (typically on the top right of your keyboard), and then the game would save a TGA file in a "TGA" folder in your main RTW folder. This "TGA" folder doesn't exist until you create a screenshot in the game.
I assume this has remained unchanged from RTW to BI.
You can open TGA files with photo-editing software such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, or the free IrfanView (do a search on the net).
You better convert the TGA files to a more universal format such as JPEG, TIFF or PNG if you want to post the screenies online (good hosting sites: www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us/) and www.photobucket.com (https://www.photobucket.com/) (I prefer ImageShack).
Hope to see your funny screenshots somewhere at the Org soon!

All of my TGAs in that folder are blank black boxes (in IV and PS).
:questiong:
That sucks, that was a downright epic battle too...

That has something to do with the "Anti-Aliasing" option that you should turn off or on... Sorry but can't exactly remember whether you should tick or untick that option.
Perhaps you can check it and just select the "other" option, and see if it works then?

Is the anti-aliasing in the RTW game or in the IrfanView? I got the IrfanView but the pics are all black.

ps: IrFanview is good but XnView is far, far superior for Browsing/Viewing.
The customizable interface allows you to use the browser as a viewer as well (in a single window, by use of tabs). Just play with the options. And it is a freeware too.

Hmmn. I downloaded both programs but all I get are blacked out pictures. I turned the AA off in the game and took some SS after that but they are still black.
Any other suggestions?

Any other suggestions? I did a search for the old threads and what Kraellin said
i do believe some got it to work by turning off anti-aliasing. but if you turn it off in the game, also turn it off in your video drivers options. i'd also try turning off anisotropic filtering, fast writes, and maybe even shadows.
Other than that, everyone else's solution is to download FRAPS (http://www.fraps.com) for screen captures. I personally haven't used this, but the only drawback from other user posters' screens I've seen is that when you pause, the pause button is also captured with the screenshot.
Using the traditional f12/Print Scrn doesn't do that.
Lastly, you can manually Print Scrn, then pause, open Irfanview, paste and determine if the screens are black as well. :)

I just use the Print Screen key and then paste it in MSPaint. From there you can save it.
