View Full Version : What do the scripts run?
If you play without scripts, what will be turned off? Will the AI be affected? What exactly to the scripts run?
I ask because I would like to play a game that does not CTD on me, and see how far I can go.
(don't worry I'm still bug testing, I have numerous saved files that CTD)

Four seasons will be turned off, and it will have consequences in the traiting side; seasons and aging traits at least require the 4ty. AI government control will be disabled, which hampers AI expansions (they won't receive their government buildings in captured settlements automatically, it'd be up to AI whether to even build them or not), player government control will be turned off (player can use pre-existing govt buildings, as they're not damaged), AI population and money replenishment will be gone. Triumphs, faction-specific messages and thingamabobs. Victory conditions. Allied rebel cities. Reforms.

FYI, The_Mark is one of our Scripting Geniuses. EB is entirely dependant on Scripts to accomplish all of the wonderful things within. It simply will not work without scripts and, dare I say, you may get more CTDs without scripts running.
The AI "cheats" in normal RTW. We give it more help. We don't create units for it, but we try to make sure it doesn't easily bankrupt, or depopulate its cities.

lol :wall:
But anyway, i was looking at the script and wondered if your folks had tried the replenish_units command. As the ai doesn't retrain that might be a good addition if it works.
