Just reinstalled the game (it wasn't loading any campaigns!), patched it up to v1.5, and installed player1's bug fixer, but I can't get any campaign to load up - doesn't matter if its a Roman campaign or any of the other factions.. I click on the Imperial Campaign link, i then choose a faction, but instead of loading up normally, it just goes back to the previous screen where I have to pick Prologue or Imperial Campaign etc.
Any ideas?
Actually this happened to me when I installed the official patch. I had to uninstall everything and just play unpatched.

Reinstalled everything again (twice!) and also installed the official patch v1.6 for BI/RTW.. and it works so far, but thats probably because I haven't installed any other patches or the Bug-fixer, or modified anything.
Basically im now starting RTW with Brutii on short campaign to unlock the other playable factions. Ah well, I was going to play the Brutii anyway, but its so annoying wasting two hours installing, checking everything over and over.

I have a similar problem. I can play BI fine and have played all factions that come available with the game. I have no other add-ons. Problem is I can't play a campaign in RTW. I am trying to start a campaign with Brutii but no luck.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Just uninstall everything (and I mean everything - BI first), then reboot and reinstall both - BI will patch RTW to v1.3. Then patch to v1.6. I then left it at that.
Oh yeah, and modify the descr_stat file to unlock the RTW factions. If you like.
It works fine now for me.

Well I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled both games and 1.6. Alas I still can't start a new campaign. grrrrr!!!
Any other suggestions?
Just leave it unpatched. I've been having this same problem, and after reinstalling the game about 12 times, I've finally given up on patching the game.
It sucks for me only because now I don't have the option of turning off timed battles, but oh well. Otherwise it all seems pretty much the same.

Timed battles last 45 minutes anyway. No need to turn them off.
edit: Never mind, forgot I already posted here, apologies.

ah the same probs i encountered when i decided to pick rtw again after they released patch 1.5
i'm not sure if url links are allowed but basically i followed the instructions in this post to the last word, reinstalled and patch 1.2, 1.3 than 1.5. and viola! i'm off playing my 1st campaign in months :) heres the link:

and i fulfill most of the assumptions, i think it should work for overclocked comps as well.
