GAESATAE!

also..

1. Good mod. it adds the depth that RTW should of had. I find myself occasionally spending 15-20 mins on a turn just enjoying my time reading unit/building descriptions as well as Bio's.

2. Elephants go down like a sack of potatoes.. weigh the options: recruit and upkeep on 1 ele unit vs recruit and upkeep on 1 skirmisher unit (skirmisher unit wins btw)... ever wonder what kind of army you can muster with the cost of elephants?

3. Will egyptians have... er excuse me, will *that* successor state of Ptolomy have chariots or is that historically inaccurate.

4. Border RGB color integration on the main map to suggest empires are one entity was an idea that was well received by me.

5. Looking forward to Spartans.

6. the only land battle ive lost thus far after playing mak and romani is the suprise shock of gaesatae on an attempt at patavium (ive played way too much RTW :P). Doesnt mean i can carelesly throw away troops. I play on the harder difficulties and i realize that the loss of my main fielded army will set me back. Its a nice break from my turbo charged pop growth mod (216,000 is city max pop if you're wondering), to have to sweat and worry about preserving soldiers though.

7. Playing RTW or its mod variants without reloading a game just because your leader died or you lost a battle, is like have sex without a condom.. Its the purest feeling and its a hell of a thrill worrying about whats going to happen next, HAHA

8. OK, LIKE THE FAT KID IN DODGEBALL.. IM OUT!

There will be Spartans.

Any comments you can give as to what kind of skin the spartan hoplite will have?

i.e. vertical / horizontal plumme, Lakonia emblem shield or standard bronze

or even cost / recruit time...

also, will leonidas's sacrifice merit them having 3 HPS WOOT! hehe

trailing off the subject you know what would be nice?

If CA got off their _____ and modded the in game unit stat/desc page to show battle modifiers i.e.

Attack base 12 (10) - 2 Fatigued

or something along those lines..

Our man (skinner) on these has gone quiet for a while. Someone may be able to answer this question but I can't respond to it.

They'll have 1 HP like everyone else who isn't on pain killer drugs. They will have very high defense skill, and morale and very good armor though.

The Spartans will look like Spartans from around 270 B.C. (the last source I can find with good credibility). If we ever get people to work on them, that is.

well outta curiosity why would the spartans have good armor? jus for lasting longer in a fight? cuz wasnt that 1 of there problems was wearing traditional robes?

I think timeline plays a factor there...one source suggests, if im not mistaken the robes were only for ceremony hence the name "funeral dress" and not used in combat. On the other hand another source suggests that they were, given that they were intentionally red with the purpose of hiding any blood or bleeding wounds a spartan may have incurred as to hide the soldiers current weakness. Such leaves room for further investigation. Ill post more
