I've noticed that when you bribe a rebel family member, he automatically gets the 100% immobile trait, even when he's not in a city!

So you basically get a family member that'll be just standing on the same spot on the map until he dies :laugh4:

Is this a bug or intentional? Thanks!

rebel garrisons will leave the city is there are more than 3 units (i think) , so they just put a family member in there and make him immobile so you can't steal cities.

also it's probably a little cheap bribing AI generals. if you notice most of them have a good number of command stars. I think they let them cheat

Well I'd understand the reasoning behind it if it only happened when you bribed a rebel city but when you bribe a rebel general who's out in the field, he gets the immobile trait too.

I'm not sure if the same thing aplies to other AI factions family member as I haven't tried bribing them yet.

Anyone know if this happenes too when you bribe a non rebel AI family member?

I've bribed a rebel family member and have not got any immobile trait. In fact, he currently leads my armies.

Weird, it happened to me twice. After that I quit trying to bribe them :laugh4:

Maybe they already had the immobile trait before I bribed them? I'll check it out.

It would have been a hidden trait. We probably have some Eleutheroi generals who are supposed to be inside cities that are not there. If you have a screenshot or can give the location where this occurred, we can take care of it. The trait he got probably looked like this:

Client Ruler
This man is the chief magistrate and ruler of this region, coerced to serve as your surrogate. While little more than a puppet ruler, his presence is required in the city at all times to maintain both civic order and a facade of independence.

-100% Movement, +1 Law, +1 Command when defending.

Can you confirm?

Yeah that's the trait, it happened near the Garama settlement.

He only got the trait after I bribed him though. I used my spy to check it this time.

Also, I believe he was inside the settlement but then he went for a walk so I don't think that'd be possible if he already had that trait?

Here are some screenshots.

The Client Ruler is supposed to only take place inside a city. Hmmm.
