A small question for all the experienced players out there.
I was siegeing a rebel fort with a mote.
Their army consisted in 2 peasants and 1 mounted sergeants against my 8 halberdiers 1 royal knight, 1 lancer, 3 passive arbalesters and 3 culverins all of them with golden armor and golden weapons (I was a tad bit over prepared for the battle).
The battle resolve this way:
1.- My artillery destroys the fort, the gates and 4 sections of the stockpile “isolating” the gates area.
2.- My arbalesters shoot down all the rebels but 4 mounted sergeants
3.- The halberdiers kill the enemy general
What called my attention was the following, after destroying the walls I noticed all my arrows went through the walls without any problem which allowed me to kill most of the rebels without much effort.
This was the initial castle, where A= arbalesters, W= wall, G= gate and P= peasants:
AAA AAA AAA

Now, just picture that before opening fire, my artillery destroyed the sections of the wall that were the union between the gate and the rest of the castle.
Does this render the entire wall sections left close to the wate useless to stop missiles? Because all my arrows went throw swiftly while in other cases walls have served as excellent protection.
Or was this caused because all my arbalesters had “golden” weapons?
