This may very well be a stupid question, but I seem to recall a "special attack" in the Casse general's chariots' description, just wondering what that might be and how to do it... if it is actually something and it's do-able...

You have realised that your chariots do more damage while they are moving around the enemy unit, and do minimal damage when they are stationary. The "special damage" I think it refers to this issue, the damage inflicted by the blades at wheels.

I have a question concerning these chariots. They seem very fragile to me, in addition to be quite dificult to maintain united and to give them orders. Even more, when they rush into an enemy formation, most of the enemies fall to the ground but don't die. So I think this unit is really underpowered, a cabalry unit for a general is far more useful, even an infantry unit as the sweboz's one is far better.

I think you should do something to nivelate chariots, but this problem was also in vanilla, so I don't know if something could be done. Or perhaps there is some "trick" to use your chariots, who knows.

At the moment the EB chariots aren't in game yet. The ones we will add have a ton javs on board to throw at the enemy. They should be driven through (not into) an enemy formation, with infantry or cavalry following up to exploit the gaps. After that they should stay behind the enemy battle line throwing javs into the rear of the enemy until another opportunity to create exploitable gaps presents itself.

Here's a pic of the EB chariot:

Oo, sounds lethal. Good stuff. Will the rider skins for the Casse be changed from vanilla when the new chariots are implemented as well?

That is the plan as far as I know, I haven't seen rider skins or models though. I think we'll even have a driver sitting in the proper position.

its me the only who thinks that charriots should damage both the enemy and my troops who engaged the enemy? this wont mean an extra difficulty, just engage the enemy with ur weakest units and sourround and exterminate with charriots

Personally, I think it's only logical that a general with a cavalry bodyguard would be far superior to one with chariots. After all, if chariots had truly been the better choice, they wouldn't have been abandoned everywhere except in Britain, now would they? And as far as I know, in Britain it was a matter of not having enough horses big enough to ride, so it's no surprise that chariots aren't very good.

If we believe Caesar, they were effective enough against surprised soldiers who had never seen them before, but could be easily dealt with by disciplined troops who knew what to expect. But I somehow doubt it'd be easy to simulate that in the game...
