Well, Im just wondering how far you guys can take this idea of independant kingdoms. Im extremely impressed by this mod. Ive previously been playing RTR, which is awesome too but this one does things that I didnt think were possible on a 1.2 build.

We all know that we are restricted to 20 factions but if the independants concept could be expanded on then theres a potentially limitless resource to draw on for variation. Is it possible do you think, to make them interact with you independantly? Each one for instance could be headed by a family member, with the trait "king" or "Chieftan" and you could be at peace or at war with each and every one individually. If not now, then will it be possible when the mod is ported to 1.5 or 1.6? Trade rights also. Will it be possible to trade with them on an individual basis?

I doubt it... That would be absolutely great though... But since CA rushed to get it out they did everything the easiest/fastest way and now modders are suffering for it... Although they have made a crap game a lot better...

We can't make mini-factions any more than we can make more factions than 20.

Oh come on, RTW is a great game and very moddable as compared with others...

No in all fairness, i was wrong to call it a crap game to behin with... I played this game for hours upon hours everyday fanatically when it first came out... I could only dream of a RTS game this good... And i never even knew STW and MTW existed, and the best RTS game i had at that time was rise of nations and the AoE series, AoE are classics and will always hold a place in my top 5 PC games...

Anyway like i say, the leap from rise of nations and AoE to RTW is a massive one i'm sure you'll all agree and like i say, i was obsessed and amazed with it... When i first saw the demo my immediate reaction was 'i must have this game'... I spent 500 pounds (about 800 or so dollars) upgrading my Pc just to get it, and when i did get it i was thrilled with it it was wonderful...

Then after the honeymoon period wore off, i started finding bugs... And decided that i wanted to learn about ancient history and noticed many many inaccuracies... Then i started to think how it could be made better but i barely started and i found the RTR mod which breathed new life into the game for me.. But now with EB i think i'll be playing this game forever more...

So yeah i was wrong to say it was crap, but i still stick with my saying that it is rushed and was clearly just released to make money for CA because shiney graphics were worked on more than the important things and we are suffering because of it and i do believe that no mod can fix this.

I couldn't agree more, Dayve's experience is almost my experience, word for word, except that in place of rise of nations and Age of Empires, it's Age of Empires and Empire Earth. Beautiful work EB has done with it. It's now a half polished diamond, and our experienced gemmologists are hard at work finishing the other half...
