hey everyone...just palying as the iberians for the first time and i was reading about their skirmisher horse javelineers who trained their horses to kneel in high grass to hide from their enemies and ambush effectively...

As you can imagine having this animation in game would unspeakably awesome...just wondering if yall were ever planning on trying to implement this animation? perhaps signiferone or someone could help?

just wondering, thanks for all the wonderful work in the OB!!

I don't think it's the actual animation which is the problem, but rather that it isn't defined any horse ambushing animation in the game, which is hardcoded.

hmmm, cavalry can hide in forrests too can't they. they just don't have a kneeling animation like the infantry...

Well at this point, that is for sure a lower priority than all the other things that have to be done. While a nice little detail, there are plenty of other things that need the immediate attention of the team.

oh im sure its not a priority...i was just curious if it could be done and all that ..in answer to gander, although other horses could hide in forests, the historical description of the iberian light cav says they had a unique behavior of training their horses to be quiet and kneel to hide in grass and such.

so if other horses could hide in forests etc, it wouldnt be the same specially trained ability.

anywho, no biggie, just wondering if it was possible.

I'm not sure but I thought I saw an Iberian cav unit hide in long grass for a while and then suddenly appear, or perhaps it was a Carthaginian one.
